Man...how many hours do you have to read? LOL

Rio, Military Macaw. Was severely abused before I met him and brought him home. He took a while to hand train, and even longer to gain enough trust that he'd play with me. The day I knew, KNEW that we were meant to be, he stepped up for me, and then all of a sudden, grabbed the collar of my shirt and pelted himself backwards into my arms like a baby and started rubbing his beak all over my hands. I was SO surprised. He layed there, cuddling with me, and then all of a sudden said "Awwww. Love you!" That was it. No more questions, he was just my baby and my only regret was that I hadn't found him sooner.

Just this morning, we're all bustling around the house to get on with our day and while he typically doesn't talk for me (I'm apparently too entertaining to use regular old speech on) as I was changing out his food for the morning he said "Whasssup?"
Which is funny, because that Budweiser Parrot commercial that is on the internet...is his absolute favorite video to watch other than "Einstein" the African Grey.

AND...

Katie, our Greenwing baby who is 20 weeks old this week (I think...Jeez...time's really flying) gets told "no-no" as I pull her beak to my lips when she's doing something she shouldn't be. So, a couple of days ago, I'm getting ready to leave and I said "Ok Katie, I have to go bye-bye" as I was trying to put her in her cage. Instead she climbed up my arm and pressed her beak against my lips and said "No-No!" LOL She can discipline just as well as I can! LOL

So many stories I have. So many. I just love those guys so much. If I didn't know better, I'd say I'd given birth to them myself with as much as I love them. They are every bit as much a part of our family as my non-hatched kids! LOL

Mine hated it's cage so it sat on the curtain rod of one of my windows when I was out or sleeping. Then in the morning it would crawl down from the curtain, jump on the head read of my bed and then jump down on my head and start chewing on my ear. Then she would jump on my pillow and then she would chew on my lip. That was her wake up call.

She would start singing and flying around when she heard Whole Lotta Love by Led Zepplin.

It would start flaping its wings when I quickly slapped my legs and when she flapped too fast she would take off as if she didn't mean too.

The only thing I was able to teach my bird to do was put her head down to be petted. I would make a bobbing motion on my shirt and next to her with my index finger and she would put her head down like a bow.

my red front macaw will whistle and call for our puppies. When they come over (yes, they listen to the bird) she will throw them a piece of food and watch them fight over it! Then she tells them "good boys." When she has had enough fun she will tell them to go play!!! It is TOO funny. She will also climb down off the cage and waddle over to the pups and say "give the puppy a kiss!" She will actually kiss their noses. She even tells herself "easy, dont bite!" My african grey will watch these pups running around the room and says g-------damn dog!! and what the hell is going on?!
It is very entertaining in my house!

I have a blue ringneck that gets on the edge of a cup or glass and hangs his body completely upside-down into it so he can sip whatever's in the bottom. Looks like a glass of bird.

My cockatiel, Princess, who I thought is a girl and turned out to be a boy. He whistles and stuffs and before he starts whistling he be looking up and openning his beak like an opera singer. Then when he decided to whistle London Bridge he be bobing his head up and down like a rock star. I think it's really funny to look at.

When the dog barks we yell "Shut up...Git...Go lay down". Now we don't have to yell anymore. When the dog barks the bird yells at the dog.

Hi there. My Quaker was squawking loudly and I lost my patience and said"What do you want?" He stopped looked at me and said "a kiss?". Well, that made me smile and calm down. Have a tweet day.

Whenever I go to my friend's house, I love when her bird tilits it's head and then hides behind it's own wing. =D
