that means that owl thinks your window is a cool spot to hang out at. I had an owl that used to hoot outside my window, but eventually he flew away. Just give him a week or two.

The owl is probably going to nest in that tree. Owls are very early nesters, starting in January, where most birds nest later in spring. He or she is calling for its mate. Take care not to get too close to the tree right now, as Owls are very defensive of their nests.
Owls are really great to have around. They kill an incredible number of mice and rats.

It means that the owl has found a nice tree in which he can observe his territory and perhaps more easily find food. Or, he may be calling for a mate and thinks he can find one there. In any event, enjoy the owl song. I'm sure it's beautiful.

A myth is someone is going to pass away...but, I don't believe in things that are negative...so, more than likely, the owl has found a mate and maybe it just wants you to notice. Another thought, or I've heard with birds outside the window is that someone that has passed away that wants to communicate with you is trying to get your attention.

means he has found a good hunting spot... my Grandpa had a great horned owl that hunted his ducks and chickens... he roosted in a tree in his front yard! LOL
Most owls go for mice and rats... do you live near a field? He is just hunting for his dinner...

My grandmal used to tell me that if you heard an owl (I think it might have been a white owl in particular, but then again how could you tell if you just hear it, lol) anyways, that it meant someone was going to die.

It's coming into breeding condition and is calling for a mate, it will not stop calling untill it finds a mate or the end of the breeding season, whichever comes first.
It is however illigal to shoot them and in some circumstances disturb them in any way.

I think that it means your tree is in his territory. He's just letting others know it's his and stay out.
