We have two peach faced lovebirds. One of them plucks excessively and is getting ugly. We have tried everything. We have taken them to a vet and had them tested, there is no medical reason for the plucking. We have changed their diet to something reccomended by our vet and bird breeders. We have introduced more stimulating toys to their environment and bought them a much bigger cage. Two days ago, at the advise of a bird breeder and with our own forethought, we split the birds up. They are siblings and "fight" often. We put their cages adjacent to each other so they wouldn't be too lonely. This is not helping either! The plucking bird just won't stop and I am at a loss for things to try. I really don't want it to go bald, i've seen a bald love bird and it looked so helpless and sick. I'm trying really hard but don't know what to do. I'll take any suggestions.
Thank You!!!!

The bird is about six years old. It has been doing this for quite some time and has like a bald spot on his back and in the bald spot you can see it's flesh and it is dark red/black from it always being bitten at. If you need any other info I will provide it. I have already taking it to an avian vet.

It's driving me insane, it crows at 3am, 4am and then at 6am and 7am......I went and told my neighbour and he said he'd do something about it, all he did was move it to the other side of his backyard because i can still hear it its just not loud as before. So I went and talked to him again, he told me that he was waiting for something from the vet that stops roosters crowing (how stupid does he think i am???). I think he says he'll do something about it just to shut me up.......I dont know what to do.

And I dont want to hurt the rooster because i dont believe in cruelty to animals.

For your bird do you use gravel? Do you use newspaper at the bottom of the cage or do you use the sand paper you can buy? Do you use bird brushes? And do you use any special bird cage cleaners? Do you prefer clipping your birds wings or letting them fly? Is there anything you would recommend anything in perticular in the cage?

Thanks!

It looks like a small parrot or a big parakeet, it has a white/gray body, yellow head, and a crest of yellow feathers. Can anyone help identifying this bird?

Can you provide a link to a site with care information please.

My mother has left it roaming free around the house, he can't fly because his wings were recently clipped (I realise it must have been recently because he tries to fly and sinks right to the floor).

She has bought a really small cage with has 2 perches, but not room for him to move around. I don't want to lock him in there, but I won't be allowed to close the doors or the window.

is ok for him to sleep perched in his cage, or should I make him some kind birdhouse or could I let him sleep where he pleases? would light and noises disturb him much?

thank you very much for your answer!!!!

I'm looking into getting a small flock of backyard chickens this spring and I want ones that tend to be gentle, lay fairly well (brown eggs are best), and will set and rear young (chickens of certain breeds have the tendency to go broody basically bred out of them- especially those used only for egg production.) Thanks!

Hey, what's this cockatiel's mutation?

1)He looks cinnamon but I think he's split to pearl too because there are some things that look like pearlings on his wings.( male cockatiels loose their pearlings after their first molt but they regain it after some years). Look at this link and tell me if he's a pearl or no.http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeImage?AdId=9462118&img=http://kijiji.ebayimg.com/i16/05/i/000/87/67/b845_18.JPG.

2) The male also looks like he's split to emerald(olive) because between his wings I can see a bit greenish thing. Check this licnk and tell me if he's split to emerald ot not please.http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeImage?AdId=9431695&img=http://kijiji.ebayimg.com/i18/07/i/000/87/28/54ac_18.JPG

So, is he cinnamon split to pearl emerald?
