i have a yellow cockatiel

Yes and if not properly cared for they can develop arthritis and sores. Perches need to be of various sizes and thicknesses to promote exercise and stretching of the feet. And if the perches are cleaned be sure they are dry before letting your bird back on them.

yes they do. If a bird steps on something hot and reacts, I'm pretty sure he feels it. I wouldn't try though. If not, check out the nervous system of a cockatiel.

it worries me what that thing is you are holding in the first picture. It appears to be some sort of fish but it could be dangerous
