The bird is about six years old. It has been doing this for quite some time and has like a bald spot on his back and in the bald spot you can see it's flesh and it is dark red/black from it always being bitten at. If you need any other info I will provide it. I have already taking it to an avian vet.

I did get it checked for mites. I will try to shower it daily and it also seems every toy I try it stays far away from except mirrors.

The vet said he had no mites and is just picking cause he's bred/nervouse but I don't think so he has a little hole in his flesh almost

i would get it checked for mites and start spraying it like a shower daily also give it plenty of attention a few preening toys to keep its mind from its back it good to see that you are concerned so much for what some people would see as just a bird

my african grey plucked his chest feather out took him to a vet what a waste of time that was.went to pet shop brough a spot on.applied it they have all grown back now
