if its a barn owl they nest in a barn but otherwise its just a hollow in a tree

An owl's nest is called a owl's nest no special word. I did a couple of Google searches with no results.

Owls don't build nests they make a scrape. this is a shallow hollow in the dust and dirt at the nest site, They sometimes break up castings (pellets) and use feathers as well.
