I am not from Australia, however what my bird sits on in the shower is not a perch, its something we bought at Walmart that is meant for razors and stuff... It works. It's strong enough to hold his weight, and big enough for him to sit on the side of it and see us (or his reflection in the mirror we also have in the shower)

Petsmart, and Petco, has them in the US, but I'm not sure if you have those in Australia. If not do a search for Parrot supplies on-line. You can also do an E-bay search---Birdman

usually you can order them from bird magazines or catalogs. try drs. foster and smith catalog. here i found it for you on their website.
