I've got a desklamp with a 20 watt bulb that gets to be about 90 degrees or more and a wooden box with glass panels on all 4 sides. This is just my incubation source if I ever come across a bird egg or get a pigeon egg from a freind(I'm thinking of hand raising). I CAN'T afford an incubator right at the moment so this is basically all I've got.

Anyone got any tips or advice they'd like to throw at me?

Thanks for the help!

Nature makes it look easy huh? If you don't have the time or materials to hatch an egg properly, what makes you think that you'll have the time later to raise the chick that hatches from this egg? Find a better use of your time AND if you really want a pigeon chick that badly, get one that is already weaned. You really have no clue of the time and commitment involved -

Eggs will not hatch unless you have the perfect temperature AND the perfect humidity. An egg in a glass box with a light bulb will not hatch, I guarantee it. You also have to turn the eggs continuously during the day and night, every day and night.

No offense, but, if you can't afford an incubator, are you sure you can afford a bird? They can get ill, they can have problems that need expert care, and that isn't free. Hand raising a bird is a very time consuming responsibility. They need special food and there is a very specific technique for feeding them. I truly think you need to do a lot more research before you attempt something like this. I can tell from your question that you aren't knowledgeable enough yet to take on hatching and raising a bird.

If you get an egg kindle it to see if there is a chick and if so ask your friend or someone else if they have an incubator and if so ask if you can borrow it.

Several people have given you answers before regarding this question.

Even though I don't agree with your decision, I spent three hours yesterday researching your question and giving you links.

I suggest that you now talk to pigeon breeders in your area, maybe they can help you.
