You can feed your budgie virtually anything. Whatever you do, do NOT feed avocado, tomato leaves, apple or other fruit seeds, fruit pits, chocolate, alcohol, mushrooms, or onions and avoid these plants which are found near and within the home: http://petcaretips.net/poisonous-plant-bird.html Also, avoid greasy, salty, sugary foods and keep in mind that anything unhealthy for humans will be pretty unhealthy for birds, and consider the size of your bird - MUCH smaller than you. You can eat a chip, he/she can have one bite and the fats and salts will have the same effect. Lastly, birds are lactose intolerant, so while cheese and yogurt is good to aid in calcium and other nutrients, feed in moderation because of this.
Egg shells are not necessary, but can aid in calcium levels. A big problem with parrots and high mortality rates is due to malnutrition, so you could crush some up into some food every once in a while and it could do no harm.
Some foods you can safely feed:
- Cooked chicken
- Romaine lettuce
- Spinach
- Kale
- Broccoli
- Rappini
- Cauliflower
- Bok choy
- Carrots
- Peas
- (pretty much ANY fruit or vegetable, but keep in mind the no-nos I already mentioned above)
- Pasta for sure
- Bread, whole wheat is best
- Baby food!
etc. ... if I honestly listed you every single thing you could feed your budgie, I would never stop. Just consider the sugars, fats, salts, etc. in a food and factor in the size of your bird.

My best advice is if you're considering feeding something but are unsure, ask a vet or other experienced and parrot-savvy person about that/those food(s) in specifics.
