To all the birds lovers...
My pair of Zebra finch laid 4 eggs about 2 1/2 weeks ago, the first egg hatched today and i can see a very tiny little baby between the 3 other eggs. The mom finch still sit on the remaining eggs and on the little chick as well. Is it ok ? And the chick doesnt move too much ( i saw it move its head very slightly)..or it doesnt make any noise so far... is it because its the first day ? Is it normal ?! Please help its my first time with baby zebra finches.. Thanks

I've never bred zebra finches, but it sounds very normal. In general the babies will not move about or make sound unless they are hungry or actually being fed. Otherwise they sleep or just sit quietly so that predators don't find them and eat them. Mom should sit them pretty closely while they are naked. She'll spend more time away when they start to have their own feathers.

Just be patient. Let mom and dad do their thing and you'll have babies flying around very soon.
