I have a parakeet that I recently started feeding hamster feces. He demeanor has changed completely. He acts if he is sick. I was told by a pet store owner that feeding daily feedings of hamster feces would make him more alert, friendly and all in all a better pet. At first he would not eat it, but believe it or not he started about 3 days ago, and has not acted right since. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with my pet? Anyone else using this method for a more friendly parakeet?

Have a look in the dictionary for the word gullible.
Then realise that not everyone is like you believing that such a stupid story would be believed by the general public. I would suggest that you grow up very quickly.

He is sick. Get him to a vet ASAP and then report that store to the ASPCA or Humane Society and the local authoraties. You are killing your bird.
After your bird is healthy, buy a book on parakeets/budgies from the book store and follow the training methods there. If you are not willing to do this, give your bird to the ASPCA or Humane Society and tell them what he has been eating so he can get the appropriate medical treatment

Oh My...PLEASE stop immediately..that is not good for the bird...that is juct crazy..you are going to end up killing this poor little guy...stop and see if he can come back from this actually you might want to take him to the vet and have him checked out..this idea just seems way out there to me..good luck and hopefully he will recover from this..please post back and let me know how he is..I am a big bird lover..have 3 parrots-6 lovebirds- and 19 parakeets..

I have never ever heard of this and would never feed anything feces except my plants, and then only cow feces after they had matured properly. For what it is worth, feces are the wastes and poisons from the body. Why would it be healthy to eat them?

hi. Your snake has ate your Hamster. you're able to have theory until now keeping it with the snake. do no longer do this returned. Get a separate cage on your ham in case you get one next time!

Yes he will,very sick,but I'm sure you already know that.I would not think anyone else is using such a revolting diet for their bird,I feel sure they are in possession of much more intelligence!!!
