Once a parakeet is an adult (forehead is white/blank, no stripes until further back on the head) the females will keep a brown or pink cere (area where the nostrils are, right above the beak, has no feathers on it) and males have a blue one. Weird how that works out, but that's how it is.

When sexually mature the males have an intense blue cere(part above the cere)with the exception of the rare mutations wich are lutino ,albino,and pied, These males will have a pinkish to purple cere.Whereas females will always have a brown to powdery blue cere.

Mature males have a blue cere (the fleshy area above the beak), and females have a pinkish or tannish cere.

The males beek will have a more colorful orage look to it.

the male parakeet will watch ESPN, and the female parakeet will ***** about it.
