They can, but they should never be caged together. While there isn't a problem with them playing together out of the cage as long as you're there all the time and supervising their activities 200%, no harm can be done.
If you try to cage them together, they can fight and it will likely result in the death of the finches and the injury of the budgie ("parakeet"). If one of the birds does one thinkg wrong and they provoke each other, even though budgies are generally friendly and docile, they WILL fight. Budgies have a size advantage and the advantage of a hooked bill that can do sufficient damage.
Also, their dietary needs are different. Because one is in the passerine family (small, straight beak as a finch has) and the other in the psittacine family (hooked/curved beaks, all parrots including budgies), and they're from different areas of the world, they will not eat the same thing. If you feed one sole diet for both, you'd be horribly neglectful to one's health, or both if you decide to skimp and feed some plain seed only.

on no account domicile parakeets and finches mutually interior the comparable cage. A parakeet can genuinely injure or kill a small, timid finch. you might have the two species of puppy birds as long as they are in separate cages. this implies finches with finches and parakeets with parakeets. they do no longer could desire to be housed in separate rooms. you are able to shop them interior the comparable room or distinctive rooms reckoning on your housing difficulty. in case you purchase finches, consistently shop them paired up in even numbers. If there are a wierd sort of birds (like 3 or 5) one will maximum in all hazard get picked on.

This will very and the kind of parakeets you have some get along and others don't but you will never know until you introduce them to your parakeets you should do this only when you are supervising them and see if they get along the world was not built in a day so give them time at first they might hassle.

Too much danger to house them together. Don't do that, but they may get along in supervised settings if the finch is tame.
