Since it's so young, I can't tell if its a boy or a girl, so I need a name that works both ways. It's blue.

I just bought a parakeet about a day ago. She's already letting me pet her, but she still slumps away. That I can understand, but she just sits around in her cage. She'll sit in the same spot for hours. I've bought her a mirror, toys, a cuddle bone, everything. Is this just because she's in a new surrounding? Will she eventually warm up to me?

I have a cockatiel that recently lost his friend. :( I want to get him another bird, eventually. I was wandering if a conure would be ok. If so, which ones would be nice to Misty. I dont want misty to get picked on or hurt, so if getting another cockatiel is the only way, then i will take it. I love cockatiels, i just want to try new things and maybe get more experienced in other birds, without endangering my cockatiel. So any opinon would be of great help. thanks

I bearly got them..they are prob. about 4-5 months...Even though i bearly got them they have taken a liking to me...they let me stick my hand in the cage and they dont fly away or try to bite me. They also like to stand on my finger. I just wanted to know if it was possible to tame 2 birds at the same time.

I hear them every morning chirping and scratching.I think they have a nest in there. This is a large window unit.I'm afraid if I turn it on that the fan will cut them up.It's too big to take out of the window and would cost me money to pay someone to do that, can,t afford it.Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

A pigeon showed up at my house a few days before Christmas. He joined my chickens when I fed them, and I noticed him hanging around days later. Nearly April and he is stilll here, he doesnt appear to go home at all. He has a band on his leg, with some numbers on it, but I cant get close enough to read them all. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to find out to whom he belongs, and where he comes from, Im curious now?

I know bread so don't tell me that. I'm just wondering the type of left overs you can give that they would eat.
Like some1 told me they eat eggshells but I found they don't.
So just wondering because I love feeding the birds in my area.

I have two peach faced love birds.
They are about 3 years old.

One (maybe both) keeps trying to tip over, pull out, it's water bowl. I noticed this and changed the water, thinking maybe they wanted some fresh stuff. It kept doing it. You think it just wants attention??

(say it because not sexed, don't know if male or female)

Thanx.

Seriously I'm not kidding, I read on a pgieon website that one way to tell a pet pigeon's gender is to look at their anus, if it looks like a happy face then it's a male, if it's a sad face then it's a female.

But is there another way to tell what gender a newborn pigeon is other than using this method?

I've been posting questions about pigeons for a few days(see my profile) Aside from all that, I know when the egg hatches(when I eventually get it) the chick will imprint my scent, voice, etc...after a while, I know pigeon chicks open their eyes when they're 5 to 7 days old so...how will the chick most likely react to seeing me for the very first time?

(No jokes or wisecracks please)
