Birds - March 2007

My lovebird was attacked by my cat a while ago. She didn't have him for long before I got her off of him. He seems fine. No blood or any visible injury, somehow, and he's chirping and everything. As soon as I got him back to his cage I covered it up to let him calm down a while. Is there anything I should look for or be concerned about?

i have a cockateal, iv had him like 9 months now and hes really socal, hes a really sweet, he even nos a few words but i herd that if ur birds alone and u get if u get him a friend a friend he becomes mean 2 people and only wants 2 be with the other bird and u lose ur relationship with ur bird. he had a mirror but i found out they become emoshonally attached 2 them so i had 2 take it away because hed always bite me when he was with the mirror. so will he be mean if he has a friend i no that birds need 2 be with other birds but well i dont no. help me ):<

The bird is unlike anything I have seen in my area. I am in CT and this was a week ago so there was lots of snow. From far away it looked like a duck almost small... but brown with white specks/spots on the body. The strange thing was its beak. It was very long. It walked along the edge of the yard but not on the snow and stuck the beak into the grass almost as if it was getting bugs from the frozen soil. I havent seen it again since. Im thinking maybe it lost its way and ended up here by accident.

I know African Grey Congos and Amazon Parrots are both very good talkers, but is there much difference between there talking and learning abilities? Can the amazon mimic like the grey can? Also I read that the Amazons can be moody at times, are the Greys that way as well? Have been reading up on both these birds for a while now, and I can't decide which one to get. I am also aware of the big responsibility, and am prepared. Any help would be appreciated.

i heard they do acrobaticks....but where iam, all they ever do is make deep throated cawing sounds. like " arrrch" arrch" , then sometime after mid morning, they seem to vanish....there mostly around on hazy, grey, dismall mornings. beckering at each other

About an hour or so ago my 3 year old son sprayed my african grey and parakeet with windowlene. I have washed both with water and their cages, I am encouraging them to eat and drink. I dont know what else to do. They are dry now and I am keeping a close eye on them but Is there anything else I can do ??????????????????????????????????????????

I have owned a budgie for over a year but I need to give him up.
The bird really likes me. Every time I walk pass his cage he jumps up to get my attention and gets angry if I walk away. He likes to be on my finger, etc.
I was wondering, if I give him to a new owner he never met will tramatise him. Will he be alright with a new owner or will he be depressed forever knowing I'm not around?

no joking this bird is a regular vistor and does not appear to be regarded as a freak as it mixes normally with other robins. i think its some kind of albino. I have emailed the rspb, which I am a member of, but they have not answered. I am not going barmy as my neighbour has also seen it. Is this a rare ?occurrence. No U.S. please you have different birds over the pond .
