no joking this bird is a regular vistor and does not appear to be regarded as a freak as it mixes normally with other robins. i think its some kind of albino. I have emailed the rspb, which I am a member of, but they have not answered. I am not going barmy as my neighbour has also seen it. Is this a rare ?occurrence. No U.S. please you have different birds over the pond .

KOXINGA, THANKS, I HAVE CHE CKED THE SITE YOU QUOTE, VERY INTERESTING BUT THE ROBIN IN MY GARDEN IS NOTHING LIKE THE ONE PICTURED. I HAVE SEEN IT WITH OTHER ROBINS AND IT IS EXACTLY LIKE THEM IN CLOUR SIZE SHAPE AND HIBIT, APERT FROM ITS WHITE BREAST OF COURSE, WHICH IS REALLY EYECATCHING. IT IS LIKE A BIB WHICH HAS BEEN WAHED IN PERSIL . I AM A MEMBER OF THE RSPB BUT THEY HAVE FAILED TO RESPOND TO MY EMAIL.mY SON IS AKEEN TWITCHER AND I HAVE TO CALL HIM WHEN THE BIRD APPEARS. SODS LAW .. IT DISAPPEARS. MY NEICHBOUR HAS SEEN IT ALSO IN HIS GARDEN

Albino robins have been spotted before. One was spotted recently in Oxford Botanic gradens.(see http://www.thebirdinsight.com/forum/showthread.php?t=804 for photos). But get out your digital camera and take a photo and email it to the RSPB. Does it look like the Oxford one?

Well, well...curiouser and curiouser. Maybe it's an interesting mutation. No, you are not barmy, for sure. Make sure you've got your camera next time.

(UK) Bizarrely enough there is an American white breasted robin. He may be a weird visitor. Also there are albino robins http://www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/robin/AlbinoRobins.html
