Males tend to be larger, prettier in coloring, and have a softer quack. Mature male ducks, called drakes, have drake feathers on their tail that curl upwards.

Females often have less colorful markings so they can hide from predators while nesting. Females have a loud quack, their features are finer, beaks and feet are smaller and body more streamlined. The scientific way to tell the difference is called "sexing". Vent sexing takes training and skill. Check with a veterinarian for more information. Straight run ducks are not a breed, they are ducks that have not been sexed.

To tell the sex of ducklings that are not fully mature, you need to bring the duckling to a professional duck sexer or a veterinarian. Live Ducks does not provide instructions for duck sexing. Duck genitalia is internal and a duckling can be injured or killed with improper handling. Check out this site:http://www.liveducks.com/faqs.html

Unless there is sexual dimorphism (that's when the male looks different from the female) there is no way to know without a vet. Often baby ducks have not developed outward appearances that distinguish them as male or female.

Usually a blood test is the only way to know a birds' sex.

ps I hope these are farm ducks, wild ducks usually die of shock if handled by a human. Good luck! :)

If you are getting baby mallards or white ducks, there is really no way to tell until they are starting to feather out and if you are getting white ducks, you may not be able to tell until they are mature. I have raised hundreds from incuabtor to adulthood and you have a 50/50 chance of guessing either way.

They do like the grunge/goth women, that is only that they are greater problematic to physique of concepts. The duck lips "widespread" women will supply you a bj in a grimy bathing room stall only because of the fact they'd, although the goth women tend to be greater... sophisticated and hesitant while it is composed of that. AKA no longer finished sluts. perchance in the event that they do no longer it only comes all the way down to the actuality that no longer all and sundry can relate to goth women. they're some distance deeper, have different musical tastes and outlooks on existence. the suited analogy may be that anybody can splash around interior the shallow (superficial) end, yet you're able to desire to certainly discover ways to swim to proceed to exist interior the deep end.

I dont know if you can tell what their sex is before their adult feathers come through. A female duck tends to be various shades of brown, fairly dowdy. A male duck tends to be more brightly coloured with greens, blues and maybe white feathers. The male also tends to be larger. I do hope this helps!

okay... there are some colorings of ducks that for the first few days they are born, you can distinguish the sex by the bill color. for some colorations, 80-90% of the time the bill can distinguish sex. research on different colorations and breeds. because usually there is no way to tell.
