The size of the cage is fine but if you want a larger cage, it is your choice.

That is a cage big enough for a cockatiel.

AS long as the bars are close enough to prevent a budgie from escapingl ut will be fine.

If the cage is not new clean it thouroughly with water and vinegar (50/50 solution).

The cage you have sounds pretty good :-) . I started off with a cage about that size but now my guys have a 6 foot tall and 4 foot long aviary. Who knows - You may find yourself upgrading and using the smaller cage as a traveling cage!

Sounds fine. Buy a good pellet food, 10% seed, 10-20 % fruits and veggies, no avocado or chocolate, rotate toys, make foraging toys like small pieces of wax paper with treats with twisted ends. Really consider a hand fed/ hand tamed bird, no drafts. Fresh water and have a great relationship with your new bird. Have a tweet year.

I agree, it sounds fine. Make sure that you give your bird out of cage time to explore and excersise every day.
