Their not really singing..They are basically talking or communicating. Like us humans do..They are calling to their birdey friends.

It's Spring! Birds are establishing their territory and nesting sites.
Mockingbirds sing a lot at night, as well as in the daytime. A mockingbirds song is varied; it sings each phrase 4 times, then a different phrase 4 times, and so on. They imitate sounds they hear, such as the songs of other birds, the whistle used by a sports coach, car alarms, anything they hear repeatedly. They make up their own sounds too.
Pigeons/doves sometimes sing at night too, especially when the moon is full.
My parakeet also seems to know it is spring; he is chirping and chattering more than usual, and trying to pick fights with me; he seems to want possession of my shoulder, and keeps trying to chase my head away from it. I guess he thinks the shoulder is my perch, and he wants it.

Even nightingales and owls have to mate, right? Then after the little ones crack the egg, they wake everyone up every 3-4 hours for food. I personally enjoy it but then I've raised over 30 cockatiels only one set of "we're inside so we think spring lasts all year" birds. Inside ones have a whole different rulebook.

If its spring on your side of the world, more than likely you got migrating birds who have settled down to breed. You could be hearing the parents with their chicks, or a male trying to find a mate. Either that, or you got a migrating nocturnal species of bird that's moved in :-) .
Lucky you! I live in an apartment and I just have my pet birds to keep me entertained with 'music'!

maybe you have a tree in youre front yard or back ground maybe there are little babbies birds making chirpchirp sounds . you should go out side with a flashlight and see if there are birds on the tree . or you can use youre ears on the walls see and hear if coming from the inside of the house instead.

Yes, it's spring and the birds are singing. They are, like all animals, ready to find their mates, so they use their calls to attract and find each other. Hee hee. What a wonderful season!!

breeding season for most species is here. The male willl be singing now to attract mates and to protect territory. Mockingbbirds are notorious for singing at night....this could be what you are hearing.
