These would be Green Ringneck Parakeets. My parents have seen them on a regular basis in their back garden, they live just outside High Wycombe. I have a tame, hand reared Lutino (Yellow) Ringneck Parakeet at home, so this is a subject close to my heart!

YES!!! I'm down South, last year I had two in my garden! They are increasing in numbers yearly!!! This from the BBC................
The rapid growth of the parakeet population may pose a threat to other birds, authorities have said.
There are about 30,000 of the bright green rose-ringed parakeets in London, with more in Surrey and Kent, and their numbers could reach 50,000 by 2010.
Increasing flocks will compete with native birds, such as woodpeckers and robins, for food and nesting space.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) said it had not ruled out a cull as a "last resort".

Yes when I visited a friend down south last summer.

Weird seeing birds that belong in India flying round an English town.

When I lived in SW London a few years back, I used to see them everyday, Ricmond Park & Putney & Barnes Common are full of them, they have a few favourite trees
I even had them on my balcony before, they are great to see, but can make a bit of a racket, when you've got a tree full sqwaking away,.....right next to your bedroom window.

If anyone one is interested in seeing unusual birds, you get a lot of rare ones around that area, I even saw a spoonbill early one morning close to Putney bridge

Saw three parked in a back garden, up a tree in Berrylands about a week ago. Saw the occasional one or two last summer as well around Surbiton/Kingston.

These birds are nesting in holes in trees around the parks in and around London, at the moment i can't remember what type of parakeets they are.

Yes, I've seen some around here (West London) I think they've escaped from zoos and then bred in the wild.

I saw an article on (I think) bbc.co.uk about it, but even having lived in Bristol all my life I have never seen one in the wild!
