Blood sugar plummets in many people when first quitting. The most common side effects felt during the first three days can often be traced back to blood sugar issues. Symptoms such as headache, inability to concentrate, dizziness, time perception distortions, and the ubiquitous sweet tooth encountered by many, are often associated with this blood sugar drop. The symptoms of low blood sugar are basically the same symptoms as not having enough oxygen, similar to reactions experienced at high altitudes. The reason being the inadequate supply of sugar and/or oxygen means the brain is getting an incomplete fuel. If you have plenty of one and not enough of the other, your brain cannot function at any form of optimal level. When you quit smoking, oxygen levels are often better than they have been in years, but with a limited supply of sugar it can't properly fuel your brain.

Which of these do you like the most and/or use in order to recharge during/after a really good workout?
Sports drinks really aren't recommended to drink unless you're working out bcuz they could break down your tooth enamel but
chocolate milk, besides being a nice treat for us chocolate lovers, actually is a recommended after-workout drink so I go with that sometimes .. Gatorade is cool & has become classic (I like Gatorade Rain) but there are other sports drinks so what do you use & why?

I tripped and fell a couple of months ago, and as a result the ligaments on my outer ankle got twisted up. Looking at the ankle, there is still a little bit of bruising right on the ligament where the shin joins the foot, and underneath that area as well. It doesn't hurt to walk on it, but I cannot bend the affected foot all the way back. I can almost fully rotate it, but not completely. It is really bothering me that I cannot do a lot of exercising because I am on the line between overweight and healthy, and I used to be 20 pounds slimmer. I want to get started. What is advisable for me at this point... will my ankle ever really heal? What kind of exercise can I do? At this point I am just doing yoga and abs but I want to do more cardio.

You gain water weight...How much water intake do you need before your body stop holding on to it. When you start drinking water you gain weight and hold onto it, so again, how many days or weeks do you have to drink water all day long before your body stops storing it and weight starts to come off?

I am right on the line between healthy and overweight. I used to be 20 pounds slimmer up until 8 months ago. I believe the weight gain is mostly due to stress and lack of a good workout routine... since I used to run 1-2 miles everyday. My dad says that waking up "late" in the morning is the main reason why, because he and my brother eat the same healthy food I do and they don't gain a pound. However I wake up at 8 am... he is forcing me to wake up at 6 am whenever I come home for break. It's not like I wake up at noon or anything, and I need my 8 hours of sleep to function. I am not able to fall asleep at 10 pm in order to get my required 8 hours. My sleeping habits are much better than the average college student. Am I right in saying the number one thing right now that I need to do is get back to a good workout routine? Is there really any correlation between waking up "late" and weight gain? I have NEVER heard such a thing.

I was working out earlier and near the end, I started to feel dizzy but I pushed myself because I wanted to reach my goal of burning 300 calories today.

I work out almost every day, burning even 400 - 500 calories on some days! But today, I just started feeling dizzy, and felt dizzy for about a half hour afterwards, too.

I ate a bowl of Fiber One cereal for breakfast, and a clemintine just before I went. I drank a whole bottle of water while working out. I can't figure out the problem though. I was even staggering to my car, and up my staircase when I got home. Any help?
