Your body is water. If you dehydrated the entire body there would be a small pile of dust. The water enables your body to hydrate itself and keep all the cells working properly. As soon as the body adjusts to the water, it will expel anything it does not need, and your entire body will function more properly. A gallon of water a day (spread out over the day) will give you a full feeling and help you eat less. You may weigh heavier but will actually be loosing fat (which is your goal). The most you can expect to SAFELY lose is 2 to 3 pounds of fat a week. Any more than that is water loss and it will return very quickly. When your exercise (calories out) is greater than your intake of calories you will begin to lose fat cells. When you deprive your body of food (on a diet) your body goes into a "famine" mode and will hang on to every calorie it can for maintaining life. It will shut down unnecessary body function to conserve energy. When you take in enough calories (consistantly) it will begin to let the fat cells go because you have convinced it that more will be coming soon. And if someone diets over a period of time it can take the body a while to be convinced that the famine is over..
The most vital to your body is the intake of fruits and veggies,
and further unpleasant rules....nothing fried, limited or no meat, nothing white, no dairy, no processed food (you can't say it don't eat it) no carbonated sodas (they leach calcium from your body).

you should drink 8 bottles of water a day. Eat 3 medium portion healthy meals a day with a healthy snack between each one. You will pee the water out, believe me! And the water keeps all the insides of your body working the way they should, some of which help keep your body burning fat.

it really depends on the person but the rule of thumb is generally 2-4 weeks. especially if youre use to drinking sodas and lemonade and sugary things your body is going to hold on to it longer because the water is typically stored in your fat cells so for a while you will feel bloated and kinda like youre PMSing (if youre female) and after a while itll fade. it is not reccommended that you drink over 8, 8oz glasses a day. too much water is not good for you. weird i know, but its true. anyway good luck. try drinking it really cold if youre trying to burn extra cals.
