I've sat in front of a computer for so long now that I'm getting a huge tyre around my middle. The rest of me's OK, (just!!!!) but my middle (just under the bust,, not the lower bit although I suppose that could do with toning as well if I'm honest!) is threatening to become bigger than my bust! Help!!!!

Right now I want to lose about 100lbs (I'm 20). When I was 15-16 I lost about 50 pounds (which I gained back plus some!) but I had no problems with extra skin. I'm worried that now that I'm a little bit older and weigh a lot more than I did then, that I'll have a lot of extra skin from losing the weight. I know losing it slowly and exercising is key -- before I did about half an hour of cardio every day in addition to eating healthy. Will that still work or do I have to worry about the extra skin since I'm nearly 100lbs overweight now?

I have been dieting since last January. I began at 275 and I am now 160. The Doctor wants me to get down to 130. I am female, age 50 and am 5'9". I seem to be losing weight in spirts--like I won't lose any for a couple of weeks and then I'll drop like 5 pounds in a few days. The problem I am dealing with now is the sudden lose of energy in the late afternoons. I just get completely wore out and it hits all of a sudden. I eat plenty of protiens during the day and the diet is a Doctor perscribed one. My blood is being monitored by my Doc. He says my iron and vitamin levels are fine. What could be doing this?

Some months ago, I began going to 60-minute yoga clases for about three times a week. I've loved it, and now want to make yoga part of my life and work hard to improve my abilities, etc. My two questions are:

1) My life is such that practicing every day feels impossible. Is three times a week enough for real improvement? I don't need to become 'as good' as an elite instructor, but I do want to excel.

2) I know some strong, sculpted people who seem to make yoga their only form of exercise. Can I reap cardiovascular benefits from yoga also, to the degree that I don't need, say, running workouts anymore?

First off, I've heard everything there is to hear about the "unsafe" nature of this diet, thank you.

For those of you who have used Atkins, how fast did you lose weight? Namely, how much did you lose the first 2 weeks and how much did you lose per week after that?
