I've sat in front of a computer for so long now that I'm getting a huge tyre around my middle. The rest of me's OK, (just!!!!) but my middle (just under the bust,, not the lower bit although I suppose that could do with toning as well if I'm honest!) is threatening to become bigger than my bust! Help!!!!

Sit ups and crunches will help with the belly... Aerobics and stretches will help with the toning. Do about 1/2 hour to an hour a day first thing. It will make you feel better, help you loose the weight and tone you up all at the same time. You should see a difference within a week or so.

I lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks doing this (and walking)... plus I also took One A Day Weight Smart.

Best wishes! and thanks for the reminder! ROFLH

I will tell you how I and alot of people in the entertainment industry loose belly fat but you can't get annoyed as it works and it is very cheap. Buy Apple Cidar Vinegar at the local grocery store. A dram size med cup (30 cc) of Apple Cidar Vinegar drink quickly and chase it down with sugar free koolaid or diet soda and it works by reducing the amount of insulin released by your pancreas when you consume sugar or high carbs. Don't turn up your nose as this works!!!! I have the waist to prove it. Don't suck down a bunch of donuts though and think that the Apple Cidar Vinegar is going to magically transform you into Cinderella!!! Whole grains and lower sugar items will help you not trigger that insulin which is the fat magnet to the thighs and hips and belly. Feel free to contact webmd.com or go to your local doctor but I am telling you this APPLE CIDER VINEGAR works, it will take awhile for the blubber to come off your ribs and rump but if you do this before every meal, you will see the results soon. Happy Holidays Contact Yahoo and ask to email me and I will answer your questions on this. I am a medication aide and I know how substances work in the body. Even old Victorian remedies. APPLE cider vinegar also helps to thin blood that tends to clot. good luck

Anything that stretches and/or moves your waist, will cause fat to be removed from it (very slowly). At the same time, the movements will tone up muscles around your waist (very quickly), tightening them so that they 'pinch' your waist in.

(The idea that you can't remove fat from specific sites, IS A MYTH. However, dieting won't change your shape, even when it reduces your weight.)

Situps won't help (they 'bulk up' the frontal abdominal muscle). Ideally, you need to keep your waist very gently active, all of the time.

Dieting won't help either; you can lose weight that way, but your shape won't change.

When sitting at your computer, try to 'sit tall', breathe slowly and deeply, and 'wag' your knees & hips from side to side, either by rocking from cheek-to-cheek on your bottom, or by rotating your chair.

Alexander technique will help you to get the most benefit from your sitting posture; Pilates and Yoga will teach you how to keep your abdomen, back and breathing muscles ('Core') active throughout the day.

Go for protein rather than sugar to keep energy levels going strong rather then crashing. Edamame in pods may be the perfect snack since it takes a while to eat and a one-cup providing offers 12 grams of necessary protein.

You can't choose where you lose fat, there's no fat loss targeting. You can grow your abs, yes, but they won't show as long as you have the fat in your mid section. You need to reduce overall bodyfat percentage to low levels and you'll lose on your mid section too. Sorry that I'm just providing you with common sense.

Situps. Start with 5 or 10 a day and then increase the number gradually. Soon you will be up to 100 and do that once or twice a day and you will lose weight around your middle within a month or two.

Cardio vascular exercises, such as running walking swimming etc, will burn fat from all over the body at the same time as toning up most major muscle groups.
