I am 119 pounds, and 13 years old. I know this is a healthy weight, but I would feel so much more confident if I was thinner. I want to get to 105 pounds but healthily. How can I do this? Thanks x

Started when I was 9
J moved to the neighborhood and shes the type of person who is insanely skinny all the time.My other BF was more on the heavy side.Kids made fun of her because of her weight & I didn't want to have the same thing happen to me & I wanted to be thin like J. I began to suck in my stomach
7 years later I still do it. I always get SO frustrated shopping because I have to see if Id be able to suck in my stomach all day to wear a tight shirt
Im so uncomfortable just sittin around with friends.I try to eat right & since it's cold out now there's less outside things to do without freezing my a** off
So I try to keep up with a schedule every day to do a lot of sit ups, pushups, stretch, run in place.I do admit to eating until I'm bloated.I have this thing where I eat more for the taste even if I'm full. I'm 16, 5'2-5'3 & unsure about weight,no scale.I guess Im 130-135 by now. Its this blasted tummy I want gone
What am I going through? Suggestions? I'm not satisfied with me.

Hi - I am pretty fit for my age but find that my body is aching after eating certain acidic foods and also after exercising e.g. gardening. Can anyone tell me how to strengthen my muscles (I believe this takes the strain off joints)? Throughout my life I have been very strong compared with other girls and been able to e.g. open jars, lift heavy objects etc. I am trying to avoid such foods/drinks as tomatoes, oranges, wine, sugar, acidic foods, salicylates etc. I also make up alkalising water to drink throughout the day. I am quite active but am VERY disappointed to find my body just deteriorating!! I tried exercising on the floor a couple of days ago but ended up feeling sore and stiff 2 days later. HELP if you can, please. I am willing to put quite a bit of work into this but also want to be careful. I am a trained nurse and in the past have enjoyed such sports as squash, aerobics, jazz ballet but mainly only walking recently. Thanks.

I understand that this is probably unhealthy but I'd like to know the degree of how unhealthy it would be... as in would my skin turn orange... is this enough vitamin A to cause liver damage... Thanks for your answers!

I usually overeat (I like to snack), but I decided to only eat when I'm hungry. The thing is I hardly am ever hungry. I want to get my daily calories in, but if I'm not hungry should I still eat? If I don't eat and end up going under my daily calories, will this mess up my metabolism?

Whenever I have midterms, finals, or papers due, I get really stressed out, stay up all night, and end up eating a lot! How can I stop eating and snacking when I get stressed out? Don't tell me to reduce my stress level because I can't exactly go up to a professor and say "hey guess what, i'm trying to lose weight and writing this paper stresses me out, so i'm not going to do it!" and it's not reasonable to expect me not to procrastinate, either. Please help! I am 5"7.5 and I used to weigh less, but after three years in college I am packing on the pounds (and I do exercise, regularly btw. I just eat too much!)

For strength training, which is better?
-Doing early sets with a heavier weight and then doing the final sets with a lower weight as you tire.
-Starting with a lower weight and then adding weight for subsequent sets.
-Using the same weight for all sets.

What about if you want to condition the muscles for endurance as well as strength?

Just for kicks i have been weighing myself just before and just after my workouts. I have noticed that i have typically lost about 1 lb after every workout. I.e. if X is before workout and Y is after workout X - Y = 1 lb.
I drink about two to three cups of water (300 Ml) during the workout to compensate for all the sweating.
What does this mean? Is there any correlation to the amount of calories i am burning?
I am not worried and i am showing steady weightloss and i know i will gain back the 1 lb loss after eating something, but just wanted to know relevance.

Im trying to lose some weight and in the process, Im eliminating a lot of foods that are bad for you(fast food, etc.) and replacing them with 98% fat free or lean turkey sandwiches. The thing is they taste awful imo with wheat breads, and great with white breads. Will eating white bread sandwiches (french, soudough, etc.) really take away gains I make from doing exercise and cardio?

Just so you know, Im planning to eat sandwiches daily, like 5-6 days a week. Ive done it before and lost weight this way, by making healthy sandwiches as my main food source and exercise.

I just want to know if it will make a bigger difference if I go ahead and use whole wheat instead of white breads.
