Gaining muscle is all about muscle repair, to maximize muscle growth u'll want to feed the body as it needs it to maximize muscle repair. get some sort of protien every 2 to 3 hours when your awake after your workout. After a workout your supposed to take a whey protien shake 30 mins later, it's also a good idea to eat a meal with more protien an hour after that to keep ur body in a highly anabolic state. Furthormore you need to also be taking a carb supplement (carbs from maltrodextrin are the best) with your post workout shake.
and typically you should be getting more calories in than exerted in a day to build muscle. You Will gain fat with muscle just to let ya know. Oh and when your buying carb and protien supplements pay attention, a lot of the cheap protien supplements do have creatine monohydrate listed under there ingrediants I don't buy those but.

if your willing to read alil this articles gotta lotta stuff in it that'll help ya understand more. It's pretty basic so it won't go to into detail but it explains everything you need to really know.

Well I have been toning my body and it took one year but I have learned a lot. I lost over a hundred pounds so I had to tone up or be flabby. First off, you can gain muscle by decreasing your fat (little or no saturated fats) and sugar intake (2 grams of sugar per item you eat) and replacing that with protein enriched foods, such as peanut butter, lean meats, buffalo, boneless/skinless chicken and by lifting weights of course, and the more reps you do the stronger you get and you will gain more muscle mass and decrease your body fat. I do four sets and slowly increase how many in those reps I do, because I do not want to gain bulk, but if you do want to gain bulk, lift more weight and do a higher number of reps in each set you will also more endurance which is an added bonus and you will gain muscle over time, and you will stay muscular for a longer amount of time and will lower the risk of injury. Also, I eat six small meals throughout the day and find that I am not at all hungry and I drink 64 ounces of water per day.
