Whenever I have midterms, finals, or papers due, I get really stressed out, stay up all night, and end up eating a lot! How can I stop eating and snacking when I get stressed out? Don't tell me to reduce my stress level because I can't exactly go up to a professor and say "hey guess what, i'm trying to lose weight and writing this paper stresses me out, so i'm not going to do it!" and it's not reasonable to expect me not to procrastinate, either. Please help! I am 5"7.5 and I used to weigh less, but after three years in college I am packing on the pounds (and I do exercise, regularly btw. I just eat too much!)

The best thing to do is get rid of all the unhealthy snacks you have lying around. Go to the market and stock up on some low-cal, good for you snacks, like LIGHT microwave popcorn, rice cakes, veggies sticks with a low-fat ranch dressing. Will power comes and goes, so to have bad choices lying around, is a bad idea for the times your will power went out to lunch. And it's unlikely you'll stop working on that term paper to go to the store for some Twinkies and chips.

Just don't stay up super late. Do yoga after so it calms you down and take deep breaths if you get really stressed. Last night no lie i cracked, I have 3 huge projects due and I screamed. I went crazy I thought I was hearing sounds and I went into the kitchen and raded the fridge I ate like a bannana and drank a box of juice and got really stessed started sweating, yelling and getting really mad. My mom was like what is wrong so It old her and she said take a day off school so I did. now I'm writing this article right? So I'm all beter!

It sounds like you are not making the right choices when you get stressed out. You can eat a ton of food everyday if you make the right choices, (especially if you workout) By this I mean sensible meals, with at least 5 to 8 servings of fruits and vegetables sprinkled in throughout the day, because if you are unable to or you "don't like" the right choices, you'd better just learn to be hungry.

You don't need to STOP eating...It takes 3,500 calories to equal one pound of body weight. Generally, many dieters dump an average of 1,000 calories per day in an effort to lose 2 pounds of body fat per week.
The key to losing weight is to decrease the amount of calories one intake vs. the amount on burns with exercise/activities. If one was to eat just 500 fewer calories per day one should expect to lose 1 pound of body weight per week. (if not MUCH more considering water weight)Many people got great results with the links of these pages.
Some people lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks with the links on this website.
