It really depends on your age. If you are in your teens, you will have a hard time building muscle mass. Remember even those guys on the magazine covers are always in their mid 20's to mid 30's.
Those powders will make you gain weight rapidly, but if you don't have a consistent and strenuous workout regimen you will simply get FAT.
99% of those powders taste awful BTW. A better and cheaper method is lean meats, vegetables, some complex carbs through rice, beans, and only small amounts of fats and sugars. Milk, egg, and soy powders have their drawbacks because not everybody can tolerate the stuff.

Look into the show "how do they do that" or "how is that made", believe on History channel normally.

Just few weeks ago I saw one that was showing stuff. The extra waste, the trash, the fat that came from products is what makes up those mass build up powders. You are more or less eating bacon grease but on a compounded level.

Do as you want, but I wouldn't think its healthy. I'm a small guy too, nothing wrong with it. When you get older you'll be GLAD to be a small framed guy. Almost no health issues for us.

I use to have the dream of being bigger too, but gave up and accepted who I was.
