My mother in law drives me crazy. She has caused many problems between my husband and I and has dragged my name through the mud. My husband and I have been on the rocks with our marriage and we are deciding to work things out.. Because of this - i want nothing to do with his mother.. she is a major player to our problems so i want her away from me. Friends are telling me i am selfish because the holidays are coming up and i will not allow her in my home because she has caused me so much aggravation... am i wrong?

I have no idea what teenage girls are into, besides all the things I cannot contribute to. I am 39 and a little out of touch here.

I never knew my biological father and just today I met my real father's sister (my aunt), and her daughter (my cousin). I am just shocked at how we met by coincidence. I started thinking about my life and who my real father is and am wondering would my life be happier if my bilogical dad was involved. I always wanted to know who he was and never met him in my life. Was wondering on people's opinions? People who have been through what I"ve been through and do u think my life will change or would have changed if he was in my life?

A year and a half ago i purchased 3 acres of land from my sister for 30,000.00. this was the same piece of land my parents GAVE to her. included in the deal was that she would give 9,000.00 cash back to me to pay for my divorce and she would heep the remaining 21,000.00. needless to say i never got my 9,000.00 she walked away with 30g and basically said too bad. on this piece of land was a small storage shed with a bedroom set in it. i gave the bedroom set to my 3 year old son. i have not spoke to my sister since this happened. now she calls and says she wants the bedroom set that was left in the storage shed. i told her i would sell it to her for 9,000.00. now both of my parents are upset with me?????????? am i nuts or????

My boyfriend and I have been living together for 7 months. I have 2 kids from my previous marriage and he has grown children. He doesn't want to take care of children because he has already raised his kids. My kids live with their dad and I have them every Saturday evening and every Sunday afternoon and during school breaks. He complains about the visitation schedule. When they are over I work hard to make sure that my kids don't bug him. I feel like I am leading 2 seperate lives and I am being torn in two pieces. I bend over backwards to make my life fit into his busy life. Why can't he just give me this one thing so that I don't feel guilty? When does this get to be about me?

My MIL is already trying to "claim" x-mas day for us to go there, and I haven't even spoken to my side about their plans.

I thought it would be good to have it at our house (since we have never done it b4 and both families can "have us"). but how should i tell her, she is like a tempermental child about stuff like this.
And both fam's do get along w/ eachother.
Any suggestions hw i should talk to her? I need to do it quick!

My wife is throwing her life away right now....drinking all day and night and is making poor choices. She does not want to be a mother or be married anymore. she is meeting guys online and falling for them easily and wants to meet these guys. She has an alcohol addiction but does not think she needs rehab. Last night she drank a 12 pack by herself in her room from 9pm to whenever she went to bed. Can I get her commited somehow?

I love my parents. But they are relying upon me too much.

I still live with my parents. I am 32 years old. I have been sick for a long time. I have suffered from OCD all of my life. But in the past year or so, I have gotten well enough to start working. Before, I couldn't even hold down a job.

My step dad is a nice guy. He is thoughtful. But he is not going to work many days. He stays home because he is "sick." He is depressed. He has dealt with many deaths in his family. He is basically all that is left. He has a sister, but she is not close to him. She seems to be avoiding him.

My Mom is sick. She is disabled. She is capable of working part time, but she keeps staying at home and sleeping. Our kitchen is dirty- borderline filthy. I try so hard to keep the kitchen clean, but my parents don't do a lot in terms of cleaning the kitchen/house.

We have had a lot of financial problems lately. I keep having to loan them money- many many thousands of dollars. What can I do?

My neice is 19. She has a 9 month old son and is 6 months pregnant. She is having some complications with this pregnancy.. The Dr told her she would not be able to work for the rest of her pregnancy, so she quit her part time job. She has to go to the Dr. 2-3 times a week so they can monitor her baby. I am a stay at home mom of 4. I offered to watch my 9 month old nephew while she has Dr. appointments to try to help out. She wants me to watch her from 8:00 to 5:30 on the days she has appointments. I agreed to watch him that long for $20 dollars a day. She lives at home and has the support of our entire family, but now everyone is turning on me. They think I should keep the baby for free. Am I being unfair? I feel I'm being taken advantage of because I don't work outside the home. HELP

What should you do if you're going to buy a house, and then feel that there may be other better properties out there?

The vendor has agreed to sell his house to me, and I'm waiting for the survey result. However, in my last visit, I found out that some repairs are needed for this house. At the same time, at rightmove, primelocation, I saw some other attractive properties (I haven't viewed them yet). So now I'm in a "what-to-do?" situation? The contract is being done, but at the same time, I feel something better may be out there.

Have you ever had a similar situation? What will you do?

My best friend is 13. Her sister is 16 and has a few month old baby. She (her sister) hits my friend and takes her phone and internet as if she was her mother.

Last night the older sister told my friend to take care of her baby while she washes the bottles and my friend told her she couldn't cause she was doing homework and her sister took her phone away. My friend opened the door to get her phone back and her sister grabbed her by the neck and held her up against the wall, choking her. Later on my friend slept in her moms room cause she was scared to sleep upstairs. Her mom came home at 5 am and when she told her, she didn't do anything. She just said ok. They don't even have food in their house. When she comes to my house she basically eats half of my fridge.

She doesn't want to make her moms life harder but something has to be done. What can be done?

My boyfriend of two years, and my soon to be husband, is 23 years old and STILL sucks his thumb! Its drving me crazy! And it seems like the more I ask him to stop, the more he gets mad and does it more. He said that he would stop once we got married, but I dont think I can wait that long, I've already been waiting for two years. So what are some helpful advice that you guys can give me to help him stop? They tried hot, nasty tasting stuff when he was younger and even that didnt work. Should I just get over it since I have already agreed to marry him, and just except it? Only serious answers only! I didnt use 5 points for smarta$$ people looking for an easy 2 points! Thank You!

I have two sister in laws and the three of us threw our cousin a baby shower. Our mother in law gave us $100 to split up between us. I let the other two girls just pocket it since they spent more and I hardly spent anything as I was only in charge of tableware. Well, one of my sister in laws is pregnant so my other sister in law and I threw her a party. Again our mother in law gave us $100 to split. Though this time my sister in law did not mention the $100 nor did she ask about receipts as she did the last shower. So I asked her how we were going to split up the cost of the shower. She gives me her list and costs of $185! What on earth did she buy for that much money is beyond me! I gave her my costs of $66.65. She said okay let's just call it even. Without saying anything about the $100. So since she overspent on who knows what, I don't get any of the money. I bought the stuff I bought thinking I would get reimbursed with some of the $100. What should I do?

Im a victim of his abuse. When I was young he used to beat me, kick me or slap me. There was this one time, i confronted him, he said he beat me for I have done a mistake. But I think its not proper. Now, that Im already 23. No more beatings, but we dont have this father-daughter bond. He said he doesn't like talking to me. He underestimates me, he would always say Im dumb. I am nonsense to talk to. Im good at nothing. My sister is better. I dont feel like talking to him too, his face reminds me of his beating. I always avoid him, does it make me a bad daughter?

They are always abusive with ill manners.I have to apologise to put my mind at rest they have encouraged me to torment myself and behave as though I am at fault more. They are both boorish bullies although I might feel at better if I did. That said I am sick of their wingeing and abusive lies and don't want to meet them again. She said"there was nothing to apologise for" which shows me that my sister doesn't understand that she is in the wrong and won't listen either.Any advice?I will be grateful.

My partner is 25yrs old and he still occasionaly wets the bed. He has been to the doctors a while ago and they prescribed him some medication which worked for a while but then he threw them as decided they werent working(or did he know there was another reason he should be paying attention to). The thing is it makes him feel so bad and embarresed he then gets angry and upset and it leads to an argument that i always try to avoid. This has been a problem since childhood, and his father did punish him. Dont know what to do as just want to help him.
