Family - November 2007

So, my brother is 23. He still lives at home with me, my sister and my parents. He doesn't have a job. (he hasn't had a job since he was like 19.. which he quit) But, he's always home. He never leaves, since he graduated he hasnn't talked to any of his friends. So he like is always here. He wakes up at like 12-1 everyday. The only way he gets money is doing chores around the house and my parents pay him for it. (Even though they can't really afford too). He ends up spending it on cigarettes and beer, anyway. I'm worried about his well-being. I always try to help get him motivated to get a job and help out. But it just makes him angry. Is this normal?? If not, what can I do to help him???

Okay I asked this question before but I really need a answer She adopted me 4 months ago since then she has never gotten angry or tried hit me until now, today I had to call home from school today because I got into a fight she didn't sound mad on the phone she actualy sounded calm.Well I thought everything would be okay since she didn't sound mad on the phone but as soon as I got home she was sitting on the couch with her belt so as soon as I saw the belt I knew that it was on she didn't even ask why I got into a fight she just kept on swinging she didn't stop until I ran upstairs then about 2 or 3 hours later I came down stairs and notice that she had left for work and left a note on the table that read "Hector I have gone to work and will be home at 1:00 A.M. do your homework eat dinner and get in the shower I will see you in the morning love Mom"so of course then I felt really relived to know that she left for work why would she do all that and not even listen to what I had to sa

Well my daughter went down to the shore with her friend. They are 12 and 13. She and her friend are the most responciple, police, and kind kids I have ever ment. Well the house she is at with her friend is pack [25people, people are sleeping on the deck and it a town house with noisy neighbors, nowhere in the house is quiet but safe!] and they are so tired. They are 2 days into there 1.5 week trip until my husband and I come down and we [daughter too] go to OUR house for a week. Well anyway the want to stay at our house during the night to sleep. It would be like 12 hours alone in the saftest place, nice neighbors and wonderful people. There house is only 5min away. I cant decide if I should let them spend the night until my husband and i go down and there family goes home. My daughters friends mother is okay with it, same with my husband because its so close. Im still scared though. Even though they are responciple, my daughter know where everything is, and its safe im still scared.

We pay child support of 1,600 + pay health insurance for my husbands kids of $587 per month, his kids are 16, 15, &11 the middle one wants a cell phone for xmas, guitar lessons and a xbox 360 plus 6 games, the 16 year old wants a car, insurance and $1,000 gas card, the youngest hasn't given us his wish list yet. My husband wants to provide all of these things for x-mas, however he pays over 1/2 of his imcome in support...if you add these other things on top monthly I am going to be extra busy bringing in the additional money to pay for all of these things, plus all of our expenses. I am really mad right now. I still have to buy for my daughters and son in law. Plus my mother in law wants a diamond necklace for xmas and my husband wants to get that also. These people think I am made of money!!!!! What would you do to make it stop?

Now dont get me wrong I love my grandkids. But my son and his soon to be ex are dring me nuts. I take care of the kids except when it is convenite for them to have them. My question is how do I deal with the parents when the kids are starting to treat me like their mother and they really dont care about her much anymore?
They need their mother. I want them to have her but she is acting like she dont care except when it suits her.

soo my dad doen't trust me at all becuase ive lied to him kinda a lot about my boyfriend, cus he doesn't aprove of my boyfriend. We have snuck around and he just gets sooo mad when he found out. Also he's upset with me cus i don't tell him about a lot of things going on in my life.. like this random guy asked me to be his friend on myspace and my dad found out about it through looking at my texts..and he flipped.. he's a complete control freak.. but i hate being on his bad side.. please helpppp!!!!!!!!!!

I have 10 brothers and sisters. Yea it's a big family! My mother can't afford everything, so we only have so much. My older sister got a dog, and I saw her playing with it in the back yard so cute! All of the sudden she got a BAT and started beating the dog! I ran for my mom, and she got so MAD! What is wrong with her? That is so sick, and I am so mad at her!!!!!!!!!!! What do I do? I don't want this to happen again!

They are moving my mom closer to home. She is doing better. She even walked down the hall today at the hospital. Yes! I am so happy. I knew she would get better, i am just so happy.
She has to go to a rehab place to regain what she lost because of the blood clot that was in her brain.
She is 2 hours away right now in the hospital but she will be sent to a hospital that is only 45 minutes away either tonight or tomorrow.

I am so happy, thank you all (you all know who you are on here) for praying for my mom and our family.

I am just wondering though how long it may take for her to get back to herself?
I am not rushing anything, just wondering and wanted to share the good news that she is getting so much better!!!!

My husbands grandmother is in the hospital dying. The doctor told the family today that she may live 1 possibly 2 days. If my husband doesn't go to work tomorrow and his grandmother is still living, can his employer fire him for not coming to work? He has only been employed with this company for a little over 90 days.

sounds harsh. but i dont.
he was never there when i was growing up.
and even though he and my mother are still married, he has had many affairs, and i have a half brother.
when i was ten, he decided that me and my mum should go live with him in ghana. then a year later, it was zimbabwe we were moving to.
he called me fat, even though im underweight; he let me put my trust in him, then betrayed me.
now im back in scotland. and he's coming for xmas. my mum seems genuinely happy, but im dreading it.
how will i cope? i cant speak to him, i hate him that much.

Every single day my mom puts me down and makes me feel like crap.There is'nt a day where she does'nt tell me that i was "an accident" or a mistake.she tells me that i'll never succeed in life and that she could'nt careless if i walked out under a car.she tells me everyday that she has no feelings towards me and that she does'nt love because she thinks i'm a piece of shitt.i just want to kill myself because she makes me feel so worthless everyday.I know i'm only 15 but sometimes i think throwing myself under a train is the best thing to do.and it's not like i can go to my father because i never knew him and my mom refuses to tell me about him.

i really don't know what to do, i don't kno whether i should run away or kill myself.i just feel like crap.
i would seriously greatly appreciate any advice? please?

My fiance has two sisters, who are very conservative (and judgemental). We moved in with each other (before we decided to get married), and so from then on, they called us names (even to our faces), ignored us, and wouldn't even let their children, who we are very close to, come over to our house. We were dating for almost 8 years before we moved in together, and I personally don't see anything wrong with that. My fiance and I just decided that it would be best to not talk to them, at least until they apologize for their childish behavior. Well, this is the first Thanksgiving that none of us have spoken, and I was just wondering what we should do. I know they really don't care to hear from us (being sinners and all!!!!), and I really don't see us being close with them ever again. What should we do?

Im sorry that this had 2 happen 2 u. I never thought something like this could. Its so sad just hearing about it. I am furious that my own mother is against throwing me a baby shower. My husbands mother is throwing me one for her friends and side of the family. I would rather do something seperate with my side instead of expecting to invite my side to my mother-in-laws shower. My mom says that it looks bad that she would throw one for her daughter, like we are just asking for gifts. It completely doesn't make any sense to me. Is this unusual for a mother to not want to do this for her child? It makes me feel like she doesn't support me or my husband or her first grandchild. She is too worried about appearences than anything else. Is is customery to have seperate showers with different sides of family?

For example, I remember my dad taking me to the library on a fall day and feeling happy. I also remember going christmas shopping with my parents at night and it started to snow and we got home and drank hot chocolate. I also remember my dad bought home a a nursery rhyme record and a stuffed animal one day when i was sick, I loved it. Funny how odd little moments become fond memories.

hi i just want when people that read this to give me an advise.

I wanted to rent out this night club but she said no so now I am just going to rent out this comedy club right next door to a pizza place. I want a dj. my daughter was coloring in the livingroom and i was in the kitchen.she yelled out"its not working"when i went to see she showed me how she was coloring with the white crayon on white paper and of coarse it didnt show.she was like daddy its broke. i told her the best i could but seriously how many kids use them.

I never knew my father.My mom moved from my immmeditae family when I was young.So i dont have a connection with my aunts,uncles,cousins,brothers.Then at 14 my mom left me.So i been on my own since age 14.I have no close friends and Im not married and don't have any kids.

To tell her more beyond that after she apologized 3 times on the phone was too much.

I backed my wife 100 percent something she failed to mention that. I told my mother she was wrong numerous times and to understand my wife was correct. The thing is that I didn't know about the quoted sentence till yesterday and my mother kept saying she didn't like how it was stated. That is what I'm upset about. She held that from till now. All this time I have non-waivering on who I backed. I am still there saying she is write but I have to say I don't like the words she used.

She could have worded different. I think that would have not caused this rift. And with this rift she hasn't told you I see them only 1 once every six weeks. The birthdays and holidays help but I don't see them any more becuase of the ice between them both.

Am I wrong for feeling that way?

I posted this earlier. Anyways, I actually had my long lost aunt telephone my "biological father", and I spend about 5 mins or so talking to him. It was very akward like I was talking to a complete stranger. He said he wants to get together and meet or for me to continue calling him if I ever needed or wanted to. My sister said to invite him to my graduation. It's sad to say but I feel like it wouldn't even matter if this person were to show up or not. He hasn't been in my life now and don't know if I could just accept him in and say he is my father. Anyone been in this situation? Has anyone built a relationship with their father after so long and it worked. Don't want to waste my time knowing him so want input. Thanks!

how do u tell the best friend that u had a one night fling with that ur pregnant with his kid? how do u tell ur parents and family? especially ur mother who beleived u when u said u didn't do anything with him. my best friend is a single father to a 14 year old we live 2 hours from each other. hardly see one another but we text and talk on the phone to each other like crazy. we both wanna be togeather but we are afraid to take that leap. i also have a daughter with another guy. this babys dad is her godfather. so its ver complicated.

My twins passed away November 5th,a week ago.We had a funeral service for them that saturday and my grandmother didn't show up.Her excuse for not showing up was that "a scary movie was on and she really wanted to see it." But the real reason was because her name was not on the service paper.Keep in mind that i'm grieving the loss of my sons and I'm hurting so bad,and the last thing on my mind is whose name is going on the paper.In the paper it mentioned my mom and dad,and sisters and brother.And it said a host of relatives and friends just in case I forgot anyone.I love my grandma but i'm really really mad that she'd get mad about that.I have another grandmother and her name was not on there either,neither was my grandfathers,not because I don't love them but because my mind was not thinking about that,they all understand that but her? This is just tearing me up that my own grandma would do that to me,and it makes me so angry. What would you do??

i have a 4 year old daughter and her father is in jail for stabbing someone and wants to see her and share joint custody!! he was never much of a father to her and he has been gone for 3 years and 6 months!!!! im not with him and i dont think he should be able to see her! its was his choice to go to jail not hers!!!! she doesnt even know him!! she calls my boyfriend of 3 years daddy!!! what is the best choice here?
