My wife and I found out we are pregnant. This week is my dad's bday and this is the only time the family of four will get together before a cousin's wedding later this month. We do not want to mention anything about a pregnancy at the wedding to take away from the bride. We thought we would write on his birthday cake something creative stating we are pregnant so he can see it after he blows out the candels. this is a very informal get together on his birthday. it is our first child and his second grandchild. If you like this idea, any thougthts of what to write on the cake?

ok,my best girl friends little sister is 16 and pregnant, but will be 17 when she has her child. she is not going to school because she has to be on bed rest due to bleeding and other complications, so she is still studying at home, and then is going to get her GED after her baby is born. she lives with her parents, and luckily for her, her parents are backing her up 100% until she can get on her own two feet and get a job.
but she called me crying tonight because shes scared child services will take her child away because shes not in school, i am pregnant myself but do not know about reasons why a child would be taken away from her..
so i was hoping other people would be able to help?

I want to go post secondary and live with my grandma...she is the best g-ma out there but my parents want me to drive back and forth instead of just living next to the college I want to attend. It seems a lot easier then driving for an hour to and from school everyday. I don't know how to convince them and I seriously don't know how to convince them.

Me and my sister used to be really close untill she got pregant and got married after she had my first nephew I seen him for 2 weeks and she kept him away for 5 months and when she needed a baby sitter she let me see him. a couple of years went by I changed shifts and could not watch him anymore so she started giving me the cold sholder now that she has had her 2nd baby. All of the sudden she tells me she hates me and it was a mistake to let me watch her son and i can't see them no more. There is no reason at all for any of this and she knows me and my husband have been trying for over 7 years for kids She has turned my parents against me and is trying to turn my other sister against me What do I do?

My father passed away recently and now his mother is very ill as well. The will with my father was a sticky situation with my mother, who none of us get along with very well. In my grandmothers will, she has left everything to her two sons equally. My mother says that my fathers half will go to her and not to his descendants. Ive been told that it goes straight to his surviving descendants but can not be sure. This is not a selfish situation on my behalf, i am just trying to protect my disabled sister from being stung again. Thanks for any help.

For the past 4 Christmases we have been getting together with my parents for Christmas Eve, but they are moving too far away to continue this. And we've been getting together with all of my husband's Dad's extended family for Christmas Day dinner. But it really sucks! I talked to my mother-in-law about changing it, but she says she thinks it would offend Grandma and that she wouldn't agree to change anything until she dies. I'm not the only one in the family that has expressed their hatred for the activities planned. But I feel like I'm the only one willing to make waves to get things changed. I decided to send out e-mails to family members to get opinions, but have only received one back which agreed with me. My question is, should I continue to push the issue or just choose not to attend Christmas with them anymore (which my husband has agreed with). I don't want to make my in-laws hate me for having an opinion. But don't want to have anymore sucky Christmases!

I have this cousin that im really close to. we go to the same school, are almost the same age, and have some of the same friends. plus he always calls me evryday and we hang out alot. the problem is that i recently moved to a new house in this condominium and my neighboors mainly consist of kids from my school. my cousin never came here before but now that i moved here he thinks its ok to come into the complex and use the pool and court without even telling me. when he leaves trash behind i get in trouble for it. recently hes been comming to one of my neighboors house everyday with the excuse of a project but has actually been practicing for a dance for a function comming up with all of my neighboors excluding me. im not even mad that i wasnt included im just mad that the person who expects me to tell him everything wont even tell me what hes been doing everyday. i want to tell him to his face but i dont want my neighboors mad at me. i know its childish but i feel left out. what to do?

Back in 2003 my grandfather died and left me a hefty amount of money. Anyways, i was still in high school, but I was 18 which was enough for me to get the money. I did not have a bank account at the time, so my mom said she'd put it in the bank. Anyways I graduated and when I asked her for the money so I can start paying for school, she said that she spent it ALL. Am I in trouble for willingly giving it to her? My younger sister got all of her money when she turned 18, and she spent it all on drugs, not school or anything productive, so that really pissed me off. Lately she has been telling me to just forget it because I will not be getting it anytime soon. She was a single mom when I was growing up, so she makes me feel bad for her having to care for us, so she feels that was a good amout of money to pay her back. I'm pretty pissed still at her...but I guess I was just wondering what I can do. I'd feel bad if I sued her, but I don't know....anyways any comments will help thanks

I'm trying to figure out the best way to put my dad's name and dates on a headstone for my mother's grave. He chose to be cremated and it seems not quite right to make a headstone with both their names on it as if they are both buried in the cemetery when only my mother is. But I can't think of another way to do it. Any ideas would be a great help.

P/S. we stopped our wild ways. tell me what you think i should do. i need some advice.

How do you deal with it?

I'm completely terrified at the fact that this is how my fiance wants to spend the rest of his life. His father and brother were both officers, and it's something he's always wanted to do since he was little. I don't want to talk him out of it because it's something he's always wanted since he was little. I really want him to be happy....but i'm really scared.

How do you deal with knowing that each phone call while he's away has the potenital to be his last? or that in the mornings while you're getting ready that it could be the last time you seem them?

My parents have come up with the "try not to think about" thing, but I'm finding it's always in the back of my mind.

I just want to be supportive, but I feel like a big baby.

I want to join the circus. It sounds like so much fun. And considering I'm 2 feet tall they would accept me to ride elephants. Also, my voice is very high-pitched and squeaky. But my mother-in-law, Crenja, found out my plans from reading my diary. I don't know how she found it, considering I hid it on my ceiling fan, but anyway, she won't let me go. I am 55 and completely free to make my own decisions, but the old lady has told the police and they put me on house-arrest. How am I supposed to convince my mother-in-law to let me go after I'm off of house-arrest? I really want to be in the circus! =o)

For what she says and what she did to my mum (daugter in law). Something broke today and I think she'll die before I forgive her. Not because she's ill or so but because it was just the last straw today. I'm tempted to tell her and why. Or should I not?

I'm 28. My mother was physically and verbally abusive to me as a child. Now that she cannot hit me, she's turned into a very manipulative, controlling and obsessive person. I love her and have sought counselling to forgive her and are through with my issues with her and my childhood. But how much more counselling should I seek to deal with her NOW in a healthy way that wont damage what relationship I have with her? Note: SHE has never sought counselling. She recognizes her issues but appears to do nothing about them. How do I cope with this? Also...I moved to the other side of the US, away from her, a month ago, because she was beginning to have a negative effect on my son and my parenting. Any advice?

My brother-in-law has moved to Costa Rica, but he refuses to give up his Irish name. What's worse, some of his ancestors were horse thieves in Texas.
Should I make him disavow his Irish name or his thieving ancestors first?
A friend suggested that I ask him to change his name to the Spanish "Que Bien" since that sounds like his current name, but I think this approach is somewhat dishonest and does not address the real heart of the issue. Not to mention this solution does not solve the horse thief problem.
I'm not sure if the horse thieves were of Irish descent or some other national origin, so I don't know how this affects the situation.
What should I do? I'm about to pull my hair out.

I have always gotten c's or b's and i voice my opinion. It seems like everything my sister wants she gets when she is the biggest brat and i am always shot down with my ideas or any decision i try to make in my life. How can i fix that? How can i show them i can make my own desicions and that i want to follow my heart not theirs?
