My wife and I found out we are pregnant. This week is my dad's bday and this is the only time the family of four will get together before a cousin's wedding later this month. We do not want to mention anything about a pregnancy at the wedding to take away from the bride. We thought we would write on his birthday cake something creative stating we are pregnant so he can see it after he blows out the candels. this is a very informal get together on his birthday. it is our first child and his second grandchild. If you like this idea, any thougthts of what to write on the cake?

I like the "Happy Birthday Grandpa" idea, except he might take it as just an old joke. Maybe "Happy Birthday from the Three of Us" A lot of frosting, but oh well =)

Get your wife that t-shirt that says "baby" with an arrow pointing down and have her wear that.
How about just putting a little plastic bunny on the birthday cake... belly-up like it is dead (rabbit test - the rabbit died).

i think you should leave the cake a birthday cake seeing as it is his birthday. maybe you could just tell them on the day your having a baby. i would leave the cake out of it... its meant to be his birthday cake... its a special kind of thing.

I do like this idea and you may write something like, "Congratulations!! on your birthday and being a grandfather of another kid!!" If that is too long maybe you can shorten it a bit. Happy B-day to your dad and congratulations to your kid.
