I've been talking to a guy for about a month who wants to be friends w/benefits & hopefully become more. We've been texting everyday. He wants us to be careful so that neither one of us end up hurt.(I just got divorced)He's pretty sick right now so the last few days we haven't been texting as often or calling each other. I miss him though! He told me last week that he misses me. I don't want to be too clingy but I want to text him or call him all the time! lol...I don't though. How often is too often to text or call throughout the day? I want him to have a chance to miss me...but not forget me. We live 45 minutes away from each other so we don't get to see each other real often. Is it too soon to be telling him I miss him & want to see him again...since I already said it the other day? lol...I know it may sound cheesy but I'm used to being married not single! I want him to know how I feel but not be scared. What do you think is off limits to say at this point?

i broke up with my ex less than a month ago and well he doesnt want to get back with me right now, and well its kind of hard for me since i was the one who broke up with him. i really want him back, but like he still wants us to be friends like we used to be when we first met. do u think that that will be good if i only think of him as a friend and just talk to him whenever i want just like i used to and trying to not bring up the subject of "us" like just simply trying to forget that and treat him like a friend, but i want to go shopping with him this sunday but im sure he's gonna want to kiss me, so like wat should i do???

My husband is looking to me for my opinion on our situation and I don't know what to do. He is debating whether or not to get out of the Navy as his contract will be ending soon. He wants to be home I want him home....but we are in debt...and his thinking is that if he stays then we will be able to get out of debt sooner, I know that would probably be the financially smarter move but he loves being a sailor...I don't want to take that away from him but we have already been apart for so long and we now have two children and I want them to know their dad. They are 3 years old and 6 months...what would you do? I know I want him home and he wants to be home I just don't want to seem like to his family that I am keeping him from the Navy they want him to say in.

I want to live in a different apartment with my daughter, while still married to my husband. It's for personal reasons. I don't want to cheat or anything, but I prefer it that way. According to law, do you think if it has any consequences to the concept of marriage?

My daughter is a Mormon. I am a Catholic. She chooses to have her wedding ceremony in Utah. My son and I will be attending the ceremony. The plane tickets and hotel for this trip for both my son and I should run about $1,000.00. I would like to give her a dinner celebration when she returns home in the summer. This should cost, on the low end for the dinner about $1,500.00, plus flowers - $100.00, invitations - $20.00. My dilemma is that I don't want to charge anything on my credit cards. I am feverishly trying to pay them off. At this time, I can only put the minimums on them and put the rest on my daughter's expenses. What can I do to raise more funds? I presently work 2 jobs. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

This strange situation is creating a problem in the workplace, where I've been denied leave to care for her. She is very ill, and I am the executor of both her will, her living will.

My sister has alot of healt problems and everytime she goes into the hospital I end up with her 3 kids.I wouldn't mind keeping them but her oldest is mean to my little girl. And her health problems are because of her weight,so I have a hard time feeling sorry for her. Also she has 3 children under 3 and I think this is verrry irrisponsible of her. Is it wrong of me to be so hard on her and to not really want to watch her children all the time?

Basically recently my mom & my boyfriend got into a pretty heated fight and now he is not allowed in her house until he apoligises, etc. Of course she is a bit upset with me that I would continue to be with him when he was so disrespectful.
Well our anniversary was just a few days after the fight and we went on a little mini vacation. He ended up asking me to marry him yesterday & i said yes.
So today I get home and I had to go straight to school so I didn't want to just say hey mom I'm engaged and run off to school. And now I'm home for a hour before class again and she is sleeping.
How should I tell her???

I know what it stands for, I am just curious if it is a compliment or derogatory. Because it somewhat means both ways depending on the context. For example like during our company party, I over heard a few female coworkers who just recently got Married would like to be a "MILF" when they turn forty. Now that would be a compliment right? But if you called somebody's mom a MILF is that an insult or a compliment? I would like to know mostly female responses. Especially the ones who have children.

I know that this is holiday season and splitting with my husband would be a really cold and insensitive thing to do, but I honestly do not love him and do not want to be married anymore. Does it really matter when? I would hope that he would look at it as regaining his personal freedom and be able to enjoy the holidays more with the family he says hates me so much.

This is the compliment I receive so frequently that I am beginning to think it is just something that men have to say.

Note: I am smart, tho.

she seems to think that if me or my brother ask for something, she has to give it to us....

like, simply casualy mention that i'd like to do something, she'll get it for me most of the time.

you'd think this is a good hting.its not

my parents fight about money alot. it took a month of my mom's pestering to get $150 a week to feed 5 people. she'll mention things like "i've written more checks this month than i have in the last year" like its a bad thing...always fighting. and the bills of course. apparntly we use too much electric even tho our bulbs are floressent and we always turn stuff out.

Serious question here....plz help out

We have been apart for almost 5 years. He has remarried and all I can think about is the life he has with his new wife. She is beautiful, makes good money, they live in a house that is my dream house.....everything I do to try to get him back - backfires on me...I want him back so badly....I had an affair while I was married to him. How do I get him to come home to me and our children.

We started to resume some communication, so I bought her a Christmas gift (a locally made mettalllic craft). Very beautiful, but not expensive ($30). I was all set to send it to her to get there for Christmas, then I found out that she had just started a new relationship with a guy. Should I send it? Should I just send a simple Christmas Card, or just an email? THis is a very awkward position I am in!

The good times are great, the bad times are horrible. Now the one major thing I stress over $$ is the last straw. I feel like this person is pushing my limits. I can deal with the control thing the name calling. But I cant deal with someone using me for money. I've tried to lead by example share my financial tricks but my mate spends and spends and I have to pick up slack when can I be done?

I felt sorry for her cause she's a poor black girl.

and/or

Racism sucks, doesn't it?

(just so you know, I'm asking cause my ex's girlfriend sent me a message with the first text...when I told my ex about it and that I was offended, he said I was overreacting. So I wrote "racism sucks, doesn't it" on his facebook account and he said I was accusing him of being a racist and got extremely annoyed. I said that I was offended and that I just wrote that statement to say that the text I received I felt truly offended by and was not accusing him of being a racist. Who's right or are we both wrong? oh yeah, I'm black and he's white and his girlfriend is white by the way)

Please offer suggestions for the following invitation. I love the wording, but I want to make sure it isn't breaking etiquette rules and that the punctuation, capitalization, etc are correct:

Because you have shared in their lives
with your friendship and love

Bride's Name
and
Groom's Name

together with their parents
invite you to share the beginning
of their new life together
when they exchange marriage vows
Saturday, the fifth of April
Two thousand and eight
at twelve o’clock in the afternoon

Location
Address
City, State Zip

Reception immediately following ceremony

My fathers new girlfriend doesn't like me and told me so. She said that she was never close to her father and doesn't understand my close relationship with my father. She says that she feels as if she is in competition with me and that she can't compete with me because I am perfect. Trust me, I am very far from perfect. I love my father very much and we became very close recently due to his recent illness in which he almost died. She has never been married nor does she have children. She is making him choose between us and I think that she may be succeeding. I really don't know how to deal with the situation. I left a message on my fathers phone and asked him to let me know what he wants. He is doesn't want me to call or visit him, he needs to let me know. She has made her feelings quite clear but I need an answer from him. He has yet to return my call. I am so sad that he would just toss our relationship away. What should I do to cope? Thanks.

Seriously. By reading some of the answers on this forum, I get the feeling that some respondents have never been married, or have only been married a year or so. The result, some strange advice based on a very idealistic view of how things work, or don't work in a marriage.

I mean, when I answer a question, I have 16 years and three kids to fall back on. And you can tell which other respondents have actually been through their fair share of experiences, too.

Not really a question. More of an observation.
