I am kind to them, buy them things, cook for them and am there for them if they need me. They tell me to shut up, that I am an idiot, stupid and roll their eyes at me when I talk. I think that my disciplining them for the way they treat me will only make things worse, my husband suffers from the guilt of divorce, even though the divorce wasn't his fault, and does nothing to correct them. I thought and hoped that their relationship with me would get better over time, it only seems to get worse and I don't know what to do. My daughter sees their behavior and I have to remind her that she shouldn't act this way also....she thankfully seems to get it. I have been thinking of taking hotel trips with my daughter on the weekends when my step children are here to avoid the stuff that they put me through when they are in our home. What is the answer to the resentment these children feel....?

When i see white people , they seem to have male friends and female friends, they are surrounded by women since kids cause they are so outgoing and they have all these cultural things that make i t easier to meet people: Stay overs, slumber parties(whatever that is.. i guess that's for girls but still it serves as an example), prom and all that. Hispanics don't have any of that(even hispanics in america), so if we meet women, they are most probably family or you'd have to be a super outgoing lad in order to have some kind of woman friend.

Is it just more natural and easier for white guys to have women in their life?

ok forgive me if this is stupid to ask...but this guy that I had a casual relationship w/for over a year, has gotten back in touch w/me & I believe he wants to get more serious w/me now as he is calling every other day & we're planning a trip. Anyway, I have a webpage & he just got one recently, but he doesn't know that I know he has one. He just uses it I think to look at mine, but mine is set to private. But he's never asked me if I had one and I've never asked him, so it's kinda me being sneaky knowing that he looks at mine. He only has 1 friend because he doesn't use it like it's meant to be used. Anyway, long story short, yesterday I had the title on mine about this guy inviting me to vip because he recognized me from a plane ride awhile back. All it said was "this guy taps me on the shoulder & says "you're that girl that was on that plane" I was like whoa! friggin' small world!" that was all it read. BUT I noticed he looked at it, so would that make him jealous? =(

Now this is the soap opera twist. You find out that he is cheating on you with a married woman. And you find out he is cheating because the married woman he cheated with tells you. Then she proceeds to tell you that he is now cheating on you with her good friend and since it's a small town you know the married woman's good friend. So since this is a true story...all advice welcome :D

I really, really like this guy I've become good friends with. We hang out all the time and have like three hour conversations every other night. He's been giving me kind of mixed signals but overall it seems like he may like me as more than a friend. However, he just broke up with his girlfriend like two months ago so I've been waiting to make any kind of move until I know that he's ready for another relationship.

Well, tonight we took like a two and a half hour walk around the neighborhood and it was really great. At the end, he walked me to the door and I just kind of waited for something to happen but he didn't do anything. So when he started to leave I just blurted out, "Who are you going to homecoming with?" He was like, "I have no idea." Then it just came out before I could stop it and I was like, "Maybe we could go together."

Well he just shrugged and smiled and was like "It's possible."

Yeah, that's it. "It's possible." I just laughed and told him to think (cont.)

So, I have been married for a year now and things have changed. My husband has been drinking every night for the past few months. He also is a gambler as well, mostly sports. Lately, between the drinking and the gambling, I feel very distant from him. He has definitely changed, even though he refuses that he has. But, he was always so sweet and so nice to me and would never say anything mean to me. Now, whenever i mention that I am tired of the drinking and the gambling, he gets real defensive and acts like nothing is wrong. We fight everyday and i am so tired of it, but i love him so much. He is not the same person when he drinks, he is kind of an a$$hole and is definitely not as nice as he was before. He ignores me most of the evening while he is gambling or on the phone. His gambling and drinking is really causing major problems in our marriage. What can i do?I have tried over and over again to talk about it to him, but the next day it is always the same thing. Any suggestions?

we have been married for about 6 years, have 2 girls together and one girl form her previous marriage (husband cheated). i am not perfect but do a lot around the house, never been unemployed, never cheated, no drugs, never go out with the guys, pay all the bills--including her failing business expenses. well 3 years ago after her best freind's bachelorette party, i am looking for my pocket knife and find a bag of cocaine. thought i was going to pass out... i confronted her and her friend and both said it was the friends and then she turned it around on me saying I was snooping. I have nothing to hide so she can look through all my stuff. well over the years i have found some text msgs about friends who need pills and price quotes and then today i am cleaning out the new SUV i bought and found a straw about 2 or 3 inches long with some residue in it. WTF do i do. she is good with the kids and we get along except for this i don't want a divorce but feel betrayed.

My husband and I are going to have our first baby. My mother-in-law got jealous when she knew that my mom will stay with us for 5 moths. She told me that people in the USA don’t like that their moms stay with them and 5 months was too much time. Now, she wants to stay at my house when my mom is here. She doesn’t speak Spanish and my mom doesn’t speak English. She just lives 40 minutes from us; she can drive back to her house. My mom lives in other country, practically my sister and I are her only family; therefore, I thought It will be nice to let her stay with us for a while and enjoy her first grandchild. My mother-in-law is saying that she will move close to us and that she will quit her job to take care of the baby. She is crossing the line because she told me I have to let my husband be involved with the baby and don’t take the baby over because most of women are like that. My husband doesn’t understand that his mom’s behavior is not right. I can’t let her dominate my life.

I am very upset that my mother has told lies about me to my four sisters. They treat me differently as a result. The worst one she told was that I had an abortion when I really had a hymenectomy. Very embarrassing and humiliating. The other was that I did not want my daughter when my husband and I were actively trying to conceive. Then last month I shocked my visiting sisters when I told them I was pregnant again and they could not understand my joy. She told them I wanted no more children. On top of these lies she tells them I take drugs (never have) and countless other embarrassing things.. Should I have anything to do with this mother who has ruined my relationship with my siblings?.

My future MIL recently insinuated to my fiance that I am a gold digger, raping him for money...and I am livid. Because of his poor credit, everything we own is in my name and I have had to put my credit on the line for everything we have. She is angry that I refused to co-sign a car loan for him in addition to everything else I've done.

I am furious at her for these accusations, and irked at my fiance for not being more firm in my defense.

There is a going away party for my future brother in law this Saturday, which my fiance and I planned to attend with my MIL. I am so offended by her misinformed accusations, that I feel that attending the party would not be a good idea...lest I lose my self control and tell her how I really feel.

Would it be extremely rude of me to skip the party? I don't want to cause more conflict.

Now that the honeymoon stage is dying, (no, we're not married), and the real, daily pace of work, to-do's, etc. are becoming the norm, how do two people prevent being bored. It even seems like a phone call is a struggle for words now, and there's just no smiling on the other end of the line like there used to be. Any advice?

We are very much into each other and have very long-term plans, but a big, reactionary blowout where we both got uncharacteristically mean and pointed in our remarks toward each other got us to that point where it seems we were both arguing against a different person from who we fell in love with. To the point where, involved in the discussion after we cooled off, the "I don't know if I can be with someone who talks to me like that/feels like that" came into play. We both want to work it out and we are focusing on us long-term (realizing that,if we get married, there will be a LOT bigger episodes we have to get thru) so we've decided to learn from it and let it go, but inside, it seems like something died right there, at least in these first 2-3 days after the fight. To you folks who are in long-term relationships/married...does this pass? Any advice? Right now, everything that was so natural before, like a regular conversation, just seems weird and I'm very self-conscious. HELP!

Last week my boyfriend confronted me and told me that he is Bi. That was really great for him to openly tell me that. Well but he has a turn on that is kinda different. Well he like it when he watches guys have sex with me. I know I know it's weird at least for me it is. So when he said that we should try it I was willing to try once just to show that I support him and love him. Well I started having sex with this guy and I feel like I'm getting feelings for him. Well my bf and I were talking yesterday and I said I didn't want to do this stuff anymore becasue I developing feelings and he kind of brushed it off. He was all like oh you like it I know you still want to do it. I told him the only guy that I want to have sex with is him because I think sex is special and that it should only be done with someone you love. I 've been having thoughts of ending this 2 1/2 year relationship but I don't have the heart to do it. Any suggestions?

I cut off all contact to my parents because I couldn't deal with the abuse (verbal, emotional and physical) anymore. I was so depressed with them in my life. I moved out to be with my boyfriend, now we're married. I also had problems with my brother that does drugs and has mental problems. He was sexually harassing me and according to my family I was supposed to ignore that or I was doing something to cause it.

The reason why I'm thinking about cutting off all contact with them is because I don't trust them and they understand me. They never supported me. My aunt has promised me many things (send my clothes and some belongings) and has never kept her promises. Therefore, I don't trust her. Whenever I get a message from her it causes my husband and I to argue. He knows everything that happened to me and knows they only hurt me.
