He freaks everytime I mention a bath or shower. Once he is in the water he likes it and has fun. The problem is convincing him to get in the water w/ out kicks or screams. ?????

Okay I have this friend who's not a real close friend who has a 3 year old daughter. Anyhow her daughter has started calling my son her little brother. Her mother thinks it's cute and encourages it. I'm not so sure that I'm okay with it as my son isn't able to understand what a sister is right now. He will eventually as he has a 17 year old half-sister. Should I let it go and let it or should I say something? If I should say something what should I say?

My 2 year old son has been sleeping through the night for about a year and has recently started wakin up in the middle of the night and I can never get him to go back to sleop in his bed so he always ends up in ours... in our bed especially in the morning time... he constantly is diggin his toes and feet either up my shirt, down my shorts in my back bone in my ribs... you get the picture... and its not just annoying it kinda hurts.... then during the day he is constantly on top of me... he has to be touching me in some way... most of the time it is on my lap with his head directly in front of mine so I cant do anything but dig his hair out of my mouth... and when I try to move my head around his... he knows and puts it right back in front of mine... I'm a stay at home mom and don't have any family around to watch him... I just need him off of my lap or leg or arms so I can get some house work done without it bein 12 at night... PLEASE HELP!!!

My daughter is 2 1/2, and has used the potty a few times. She was really excited about it at first, then a few months ago, she lost interest. Every time we talked about it - discussed putting on big girl pants, sitting on the potty, etc. - her response was always "No mom, I'll go on the potty when I'm three."

That was no big deal for me, I just figured I'd wait - but now her daycare that she goes to part time says that if she's fully potty trained by July that she can move up to the preschool room, which is a huge tuition break - incentive for us!!

My question is, I know the harder you push, the more they resist - but we could really use the tuition break right now. I've tried all the tips - she's picked out her own undies, she has the sticker chart, we've tried M&M rewards - everything I can think of. She's capable of using the potty, she just plain doesn't want to.

Anything else I can try to get this done ASAP? Thanks!

to a little tap on the hand when he is doing something wrong. As a social worker, i have told many of my clients that it is not abuse or illegal to spank their children, at least for now. And I would stress the importance in establishing authority with their children in order to maintain control. I get out raged with i see people lobbying for parents to stop spanking their children. Do you think they are trying to take away our rights as parents? Do you think spanking is breeding criminals, or lack their of? I think about my little old maw maw telling me before i had my son to start popping his hand very early and that would establish my authority in the beginning and this has seemed to work because he is such a well behaved little boy. How thin of a line is there between discipline and abuse? I don't think it is as thin as most people now do, but i would like to hear what you think.

I hate myself for thinking along these lines but we live in a world where sadly nothing surprises us anymore.

There's something about the McCanns that makes me very uneasy, if my child had gone missing through my own neglect I would be inconsolable and consumed with guilt not globe trotting around the world, nor would I have the where with all to arrange funds etc. Something just doesn't seem right, there are so few clues as to Madeline's abductor, maybe because there isn't one?

Is this normal?? I really think she is strange for allowing this 7 year old child to basically "chew" on this pacifier when she stays over, especially for weeks at a time. My hubby's brother just shrug's his shouders and allows this to go on because he doesn't want to upset mum. Mum gets upset at the slightest fits and gets worried. This kid is also a very spoiled and cheeky kid as well and gets whatever she wants. Is this normal? Any ideas??

My two year old daughter will be tested next week for Autism. I played softball for years and all through college always assuming my kids would follow. I was just talking to someone about softball and it hit me, if my daughter is Autistic will she be able to play sports with the other kids when she gets older? Is there a special league? While this sounds selfish, I'm new to this and questions are flowing out of me. Does anyone know or have an Autistic child playing sports?

My 2 yr. old daughter just all of a sudden one day had diareah and she had for 10 days when I took her to the dr. and then I took stool samples in and they came back saying they found a parasite. She has started her med. but she has had diareah for 3 weeks now. Is she contagious? How could she have gotten it? Has anyone else been through this? Also, we have not left the country and she is not in daycare.

My son fell about 2 hours ago, and he hit the corner of the door. So he had a huge indention and it didn't break open, just scratched, but it's purple/blue, and really swollen. Right in the front side of his head. He's getting sleepy now. Should i let him go to sleep? again it was about 2 hours ago, he acted fine afterwards, talkin and playing like normal. Should i worry or take him in to the ER?

I have a soon to be 6 year old who has been having very vivid dreams since about the age of 3. At first we thought it was night terrors but it is not as severe as night terrors. Most of the time the dreams are just ways of reliving a situation that occurred that day, such as getting into an argument over a toy. Sometimes he will talk or yell in his sleep at the person he is dreaming about. I recently spoke to a child therapist who thinks it may be a mild form of a sensory perception disorder where his emotional sense is more sensitive and so some emotions may cause anxiety. Again, he does not lose sleep, he is very social and doing very well in school. I'm just looking for other people whose child may have something similar because I have never heard of anyone else with this issue.

It would be for 5 days a week. I don't want to pay her for the week in case my husband has the day off. So I would instead base her pay daily or hourly. The hours are 2:00 to 6:00 pm. She would drive aproximately 10 miles to get to my house. This is for 2 mild girls 1 and 3 years old.

I've lowered the matress as far as it will go but she's still getting out. Is there a way to prevent this!? We don't want to buy a toddler bed because she's still to young to be able to get up and go around by herself, and she's temporarily sharing a room with her cousin, who's going through the terrible twos.
Any help.would be appreciated.

My son has been evaluated to see if he may be Autistic and for other disabilities. We're having the big diagnosis meeting this Thursday to see what they say may be the issues. I was just wondering, if I don't agree or just because I feel like I should, How would I go about getting a second opinion? We were referred to this program through his pediatrician, so how can I go around that and who would I go to? Any tips would be very helpful, especially from anyone who is or has gone through this themselves. Thank you in advance.
