My 13 year old wears diapers but do you think it will be easier to use pull ups? Does a diaper hold more than a pull up?Which is best for at night?

My son (2 1/2) is a year behind on speech. We don't really give into him. We do try to get him to talk. Like when he wants to color we'll try and get him to say color. He can try sometimes, but wont' come out sounding like the word. We took him to a Speech Pathologist and he just said he has the normal amount of vocaulary words for a 2 year old, he just has Expressive Language Disorder. However he hardly puts two words together. And my husband and I understand what he says because instead of saying the word he'll make a certain sound or something. We understand it. Has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions?? Also We are expecting another one this month, I really want him to start talking like most other 2 1/2 year olds. Please some advice!!!!! Thanks a bunch!!!

I've been attending a play group for quite some time now with my [15mo] son. He's a rowdy boy but is very friendly with other kids. He falls over, bumps his head around, gets scraps, plays on play grounds, and is just rough 'n' tumble. Since he could walk I’ve had him outside play and he’s extremely active.

The other kids my son's age at the play group aren't like this at all. I noticed their parents would make over their every fall and then worry about my son when he didn't cry after hitting his head or getting a toy taken from him. They would run to their children when they fell over or did something that could have hurt then the child would end up crying.

Is it that uncommon to have a child who doesn't cry unless sometime hurts really badly? Is it 'normal' for me to not make big deal over every little hardship that comes his/her way?

I'm not saying these parents are wrong. I just wonder whatever happened to allowing kids to be kids.

Thanks!

My son is 2 years old and he has his own bedroom. He sleeps in a regular full size bed (I guess because he likes it better than his transitional bed) that's in his room. He goes to bed fine and all but he ALWAYS gets up between 3am and 5am, comes in our room, and goes to sleep on a spot on the floor that I set up for him by our bed. He doesn't come in crying or anything like that but it's like a routine now. I'm worried now because we have another baby coming in June and I don't know what to do about this. My husband and I don't need everyone piled up in our room, lol!!! I don't mind it but I just don't understand why he's doing this.

Could my son be sleep walking? Should I stop him from doing this or will he stop on his own? I'm scared that he might get a little jealous if he's sees that his sister is sleeping in our room but he's not.

My kids daycare has an awesome playground, with a sand bottom. Since they're also climbing alot, wasnt going to do sandals. So looking for tennie recommendations? I was thinking maybe those water tennies, since they'll often play with water/mud/castles in there too, otherwise they're shoes might take forever to dry? But then again, lots of sand could get in those little holes. Any thoughts?

Hi,
My son is four years old and eats next to nothing. I am very worried about the vitamins and minerals he is missing out on. He still has a bottle of milk throughout the day and at bedtime. I have been trying to gradually wean him so he has more room for food however, his father (my ex) lets him eat McDonalds and other fast foods whilst in his care (we are divorced) but in my home, I expect my son to eat home cooked meals.

My partner has suggested sending my son to bed without a bottle if he doesn't eat his dinner first. I have considered this but I am concerned that this might be a mean thing to do.

How can I get my son to eat good, healthy foods and snacks without it becoming an issue? I am truly at my wits end here.

Thank you in advance. :-)

my zipcode is 50438 and my toddler is 16 months old so any kind of playgroup local in that age range would be helpful.

Twice in the past month I've been out on my porch with my 6 month old son swinging...this time he was on the verge of falling asleep..when my neighbor lady comes out on her porch that is maybe 10 15 feet away and starts smoking!
I have taken great lengths to avoid second hand smoke for my son. So I am sitting there and can smell it so I take my son in. But is this right? Could I ask her not to smoke when my baby is out on the porch? I shouldn't have to run from my front porch everytime I am out there.

My 3 year old is just refusing to potty train. I know he can but he just will not try. I have tried everything I know and he is about to turn 4 and I am worried. I would love to get him finished with the pull-ups but I have run out of options. Any help in this would be nice.

My water bill has almost doubled since she moved home and she runs the hot water out, so I have to wait to shower.
No small feat since our water heater is 50 gallons.
How can I get her to knock it off. She is costing me a fortune and I have told her to quit, but she has ear plugs or something because she is still doing it.
Should I turn the water heater down? Will that do any good?

My 4 year old son was diagnosed with Autism just a few months ago, and from what we know, mercury in vaccines is the cause. I have a 9 month old, and I'm worried that vaccines will do the same to him, that he will be Autistic as well.
Would this be a reason to not vaccinate?
Someone offer some good advice!

I've got two little nieces, one is nearly 8 & the other is 2.. My 8 year old niece is always nasty to her little sister, she'll bite & kick her as soon as our backs are turned, and she's tried to suffocate her on two occasions.. My sister has tried everything, time-out, taking away toys, putting her to bed, nothing works.. When she's not around her sister, she's lovely but as soon as the little one is around she starts.. She's told myself & my sister she wishes her little sister had never been born.. The 2 year old is absolutely adorable, and her sister hates all the attention she gets, but when you try & spend time with the 8 year old, she throws it back in your face.. My sister is at her wits end & so are the rest of my family, she's even talking about putting her in foster care for the sake of the little one.. What do we do? x
