I work in an environment where I come in contact with children all day. We have a few kids who come in regularly and Ive really bonded with two of them. Today the 3 year old girl sat on my lap and she kept putting my hand between her legs. I thought this was quite odd and I would pull away but she would just move it back there over and over. I dont know if its comp. innocent and she is not even aware shes doing it or if its cause for concern. She seems like a happy kid when shes playing but otherwise shes very quiet. What should I do?

My wife has developed some pretty poor time management skills since the kids have come along... she used to be a manager of retail stores and fairly organised but these days it seems she has to shop everyday because we have run out of something, she complains of being tired but will watch TV all night etc... it is driving me nuts.

The bit that drives me nuts is that I will get up early with the kids so she can sleep in - she will then complain that she could hear the kids and didn't sleep real well or that the door closed loudly when we left the house etc... I also find that I will come home at the end of the day to bath and feed the kids and she complains that there is not enough time in the day - yet she would have been out with friends for lunch, of to sports etc has used a baby sitter and to top it off has not only had a sleep when the kids have daytime nap but also will watch a couple of shows.

I am crucified if I make comment - any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I am a child care provider, and we have a child who started at our center at the tender age of 2 1/2. Shortly after he started HORRIBLE curse words started coming out of his mouth. Now... none of the children here ever said anything remotely as horrific as what he says...How do we get him to STOP these words. His behavior is also very bad. He cusses at teachers and kids, wont sit still, doesn't follow direction... and isvery hyperactive. Any suggestions? He's a bright little boy. Maybe TOO bright!

I have been looking at the "wonder wheeler" cart (made for the beach), or the "travelmate" wheels that attach to carseats.. I am moving to Australia and trying to organize how we will get thru the airport, etc. with the toddlers and all of our stuff for 24 hours of travel. Thanks.

My son is 17 months old, and I'm ready to start potty training. I don't want it to be hard on him or me, but I would like to have him pretty much potty trained by the time he is 2. I've heard boys are harder to get potty trained, which also makes me want to start now. I put him on the potty before he gets in the bath, and I flush the toilet to help him pee, and associate the feeling of having to pee with the toilet. I noticed that he would always pee within the first few minutes of being in the tub, and I've heard that the sound of water makes children have to pee, which is why I flush. Is there anything else that I can do to help make this a postive experience for him, and a non-stressful experience for me?

ok my daughtor is 3 and she is almost fully potty trained, she poops and pees in the toilet, but she sometimes has accidents. now my question is how do i get her to keep her clothes on. I will dress her in shorts and a shirt, and a minute later she comes out butt naked. We go through this all day long. I tell her big girls keep their clothes on, and after a while if she doesnt listen she goes to time out. But she still takes all her clothes off. Any tips on how to get her to keep her clothes on at all times. I ask only people with kids answer this question. thanks.

He is going for a couple hours a day and that means I have to pick him up and drop him off. I work full time and won't be able to do that...how can I get him transportation to and from school?

My girl is doing beautifully developmentally in every way except talking. She is 15 mos now and does not talk at all. She babbles all day long, but no real words, not even mama or dada. At the 15 mos check up the doc said this could be a problem or she could just not be interested in talking yet, but she'd like us to call this speech specialist that will come to our house (for free I think) just to take a look and make sure there is not a speech problem because it's good to catch these things early so they can hopefully be nipped in the bud by the time they even start school.
My question is, have you had these specialists visit your child and how did it go? We are going to call them, I just wonder what to expect (like what in the world are they going to say or do with a 15 mos old to determine a speech problem)?

I was wondering why some stay at home moms charge so low for daycare in their homes? Do they feel like they don't have much value or they have nothing to do with their time?

Is there something wrong with this picture? I think so.
I was talking to my daughter about who she wanted to invite to her going up party, "She's in Head Start and going into Kindergarten and they're going to have a pic nic. Well, I was asking her who she wanted to invite and of course she said everyone on my side of the family then I asked about her dad, she said no and I asked her if she was sure and she said no, so I asked her do you want your dad there, she just looked at me and said yes. I asked about her grand parents on her father's side, she said yes. I asked about her brothers on her dad's side, she said yes. Now this had been hours ago right? Now, just about an hour ago, she came up to me and told me she wanted this guy I use to date to come. Now this is what gets me. I had to ask her about her father and his family, but she came to me on her own about the ex boyfriend. The guy I was seeing, I was only seeing him for a month and she wasn't even around him very much

My 2 1/2 year old was prescribed amoxicillin for her ear infection- 3 times a day for 10 days. Do doctors really think you can get a toddler to sit down and take that medicine 30 times? Isn't there an easier way? Has anyone else gotten antibiotics for their kids in a quicker way, like a 5 day dose? Or you know how some cough meds on the market have the melt on your tongue? Why can't prescription medication be like that? I tried to put it in her juice but she didn't always drink the whole thing and it was just a nightmare.

He won't even eat mac and cheese. I kind of understand not eating veggies but mac and cheese should be a staple of any kids diet. I can be strong but I don't want to fight with him every meal. My 1 1/2 year old eats great. Anything you put in front of her.
