First of all, let me say, this isn't one of those price limit things! I mean within reason of course, but no matter what I need a great gift and I'm coming up blank! Last year, when he turned 1, I got him a two seater wagon with the umbrellas and the attachment on the back for diaper bags or ice chests, etc, along with a family membership to the zoo in our area! (It's still a hit for him!) And his parents bought him a space walk and one of the blow up obstacle courses!
Anyway, I'm very close to him, so you would think it would be easy, but I pick up something for him like anytime I go to a store, so I need a really good and BIG present for his birthday!
He is ALL boy in every sense of the word, he loves outside, swimming, dirt, playing rough, etc! I have to have an AWESOME gift for him! His parents are getting him a Golden Retriever puppy and everything to go with it! So I know I won't be one-upping them, not that it matters!
I am helping with all aspects of the party setup!

Has anyone done research on this? I've noticed my friends' younger kids always have a runny nose, with lots of parental wiping required. Do they have colds? Allergies? More sensitivity to the environment around them?

This sounds so bad. I don't want to be a bad mom. But I am scared, and don't know what to do.

Sometimes my little girl (nearly 4) does something (usually something not that bad) and I just all of a sudden get so full of rage and anger and hate (not for her, but for the world in general) that I just feel like screaming at her. I sometimes feel like hitting her. I have to make myself walk away, fast. I tell her to sit down and stay there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why I do this. I HATE myself for it and want it to stop. Please someone out there tell me why, and what to do about it!!!!

I am lucky to have family living with me who are able to help and are understanding. I have never hit her. I am just so tired of being a bad, mean mom.

I love my little girl and want the very best for her. That's why I am asking for help....Please be kind....

I'm throwing a baby shower, and the mother-to-be has informed me that she wants her 2 year old son to attend, as well as her friends children (if all come I'll have 4 small boys all between 2-6. It is really important to her that they come. I don't mind child-proofing my home, but I'm not sure what to do with them during the shower. Any ideas for activities ect?

My son is 4 and for some reason he will only speak in a baby tone that I cannot understand. I tell him all the time that I can't understand him, or that he's a big boy and he needs to talk like a four year old, but it doesn't work. Even in the middle of the night he calls me and when he tries to explain what he needs he talks like a baby. I can't stand it anymore! This just started happening about 2 months ago and I can't think of any significant change that has happened in our family. We aren't having another baby to give him the excuse of regression, we haven't moved, no one died, so I really can't explain it. Any suggestions?

So I have a two year old and I'm tired of doing the pony tail, low pigtails, high pig tails, and I'm just not sure what to do anymore. She has wild hair and it's really thin and fine. I attached some pictures so you can see the length and texture. The picture where there's two little girls on a stroller she's the one on the front. What should I do with it?

I have two kids daughter is 3 and son is 2. I am 23 with high blood pressure and I am constantly yelling at my kids. I don't mean to but they just don't listen (most of the time). It has gotten to the point where sometimes I just don't care. They listen to their father and everyone else but me. What can I do to keep them in line?

I have a 6 month old girl and a 7 year old boy. When the baby's sleeping - it's difficult to keep my son quiet. I've had to not allow his friends inside while the baby's sleeping. If he wakes up the baby, I snap at him and later regret it. It's just so frustrating. He has never had to watch his volume in our house before, so I know it's hard for him. We live in a small one story home. Suggestions?

My daughter was sleeping with me and my husband up until she was about 12 months. We moved her to her own crib but moved her back after her teething started waking her. Now she has been in her crib for about two weeks. When should I move her crib into her own room?

Okay, I know that almost all toddlers love to splash in the bathtub, but my son is taking it to another level. He splashes so much water out of the tub, that I actually take the bathroom mats out and wear a bathing suit while giving him a bath. I can't shampoo his hair or anything without getting huge waves of water in my face. Should I start giving him sponge baths? Is there a way I can get him to not splash so much?

Maybe it is just me but I am so sick of the clothes they make for our children today! I have a ten year old daughter and she goes to the daycare in the summer they take them to the city pool like three days a week. I only allow her to wear one piece bathing suits with the way soceity is today and the fact that she is so young! I went to every store in my town and could not find one so I then went to the mall about a hour away! I got there and they only had two one piece bathing suites! I was able to get her one but we go through this with all of her clothes it is like they expect our kids to dress trashy! With all the sickos out there now a days I think it is ridiculous our kids should be dressed properly and it shouldn't be so hard to find proper clothes for them!

My 2 yr old daughter is having her birthday party next week. Her theme is going to be Elmo. Now I have to figure out what kind of games we can play that is focused around 2-3 year olds. I thought a bean bag toss would be fun at this age and maybe painting. But what else could the kids do to have a great time! Please help me out cause I don't want her party to be a flop. Also, if possibe could you offer inexpensive ideas as well. Thanks!
