I know this is not normal i need your opinion.. i have a newphew who just turn 7 yrs old yesturday. he has a problem i think because he draws pictures that are very violent, bloody, guns. like about a month ago he grab a knife and said that he was going to kill himself. he has some kind of anger inside but doesnt talk about it and we cant get him to talk. his always angry with mom and dad. and the other day he was drowning my son whos only 3 yrs old. he was holding my sons head down in the water. he also mention that he hears voices that tell him to do things.we dont know if his telling the truth about that... the point is that his to young to be thinking like. his only 7 yrs old. that is not normal in my point of view. i think he needs help by phycologist. "what would you do"?

The doctor gave us that nasty pink liquid stuff, and my daughter fights me so hard when I go to give it to her. I have to hold her down and sit on her, and my husband has to hold her hands, and I have to pry her mouth open and squirt it in her mouth. But now she has figured out how to spit it all out. I don't know what to do. I hate torturing her like this. She cries and gets so upset that her face turns all red and she breaks out in a sweat. I know I just told some other mom to "suck it up" and be strong, but I'm just wondering if someone has figured out a trick to this.

Thanks!

I'm not talking about beating your children. I'm not saying use paddles and belts (like was used on every child born before Y2K). I just want to know, why is it not ok to spank your child. Sometimes, that's the only thing that works.
I'm not sure about some people but when my 3 year old can't have her way, and decides to spit on me, kick me, or scratch me (assuming this behavior is coming from daycare), I'm not going to sit down with her and go. Ok sweetie pie, mommy didn't like that. That hurts mommies feelings. Why do you think you did that to mommy? Are you angry with Mommy? Blah Blah Blah!! Give me a break. She will get a pop on the rear and told it is not nice to spit, kick, pinch or scratch. I would then tell her if it happends again she will lose a toy and go in timeout. Guess what, she still loves me!!! She still cuddles up with me and tells me she loves me as i do her, everyday.
Let me know what you think. Spank or no spank

Saw it a couple of times now, in our paper, the news, etc. Here its May 11th. We really like our provider, do people commonly get things/gfits? If so, what. We do a holiday gift, but these "extra" holidays, are they just made up by Halmark?

I'm potty training my 3rd child, and the first two never relied on Pull-Ups for potty training. My third, of course, refuses to wear cotton training pants!! Has anyone tried the Pull-Ups with the wet liner (they can feel when wet) or with the cool liner (it makes them feel cool when they wet)? Are these worth my money?

I have known two women in my life that have continued to breast feed their child beyond the age of two, and in each case, the child was a boy. It seems to me that they are no longer doing it for the sake of the child but for themselves. I think it's ridiculous. What do you think?

My daughter "M" is 3.5. She has been stuttering now for about 9 months. My oldest daughter went through it too, but she grew out of it within about 6 months. M will try to say something and it might take 2 minutes to get out one sentence. She will stutter on a single word and then sometimes have to start the sentence over a few times. For example, "Mommy, I saw saw saw saw saw saw, Mommy, I saw, I saw, I saw a turtle outside." She is not frustrated with the stuttering at this point.

She also has a number of sound substitutions in words, like "sirsty" for thirsty, "someping" for something, says w for the sound of r, etc. I know that some of those are developmental, but then I think that if she has all these things working together that maybe she needs to be evaluated. I don't know if I should keep waiting it out or go ahead and get a referral. She has a very full vocabulary and we can understand her and strangers can usually understand her, but do I keep waiting?

My daughter is 23 months old, and potty trained about a month ago. I go in the bathroom with her every time and wipe for her, and help her wash her hands. Today we were in a restaurant, and a woman told me (quite rudely) that if she can go on the potty, she should be made to wipe herself, because it isn't hygenic for me to help her. I personally think this is ridiculous, She isn't even 2. At what age do you think they are old enough to take care of this?

Every night me and my daughter have a rutine of going to the potty, changing her clothes, and giving her a sippy to put her to sleep. I get up at 3 in the morning to change her diaper, so she wont pee pee in the bed. but she needs her sippy to get back to sleep, so she pee pees in the bed by morning. I am tired of cleaning pee pee out of the bed. I know this is not normal behavior for a 2 year old. I am completly frustrated at the situation. During the day my daughter wears pull ups at day care, at home she wears panties, and at night she wears the diapers. I have been trying to reduce the amount of juice I put in her sippy. Please give me some advice...
