We bought every potty on the market! For us, and I stress for us, the musical potty was horrible. All my daughter wanted to do was play with it and then refuse to pee in it. We did this for months. Finally we got her a stool and a child's seat for the regular toilet and she was potty trained like that day. She felt like a big girl and it cost us like $12.

I have a musicle potty chair (fisher price one) at my house that i used to train my two year old, and a regular one at my mom's house and they both seemed to work just the same, the only difference is the potty chair was more expensive.

I would suggest though is just buying a stool and one of those little potty seats to put on a regular toliet and train that way, because for me since i had trained using a potty toliet i had to re-train using a stool because, although he was trained with the potty chair whenever we were out and about he was too scared to use the regular toliet so he would have accidents. So i had to re-train using a child's toliet seat that you can put in the regular toliets so my little one can get over the fear of using a regular toliet. (Does that make sense?)

Anyways, i suggest either one, it is easier to train on a potty chair but to me it would have been better to train using a stool and potty toliet insert on the regular toliet from the beginning in the long run. (Wow! was i just rambling or what...)

I bought my son The royal throne. It makes a sound when pee hits the bowl.It also makes noise when you sit on it, which was more entertaining to him then the actual act of going potty. Here I am 2 yrs later still tryng to potty train him at the age of almost 4.So no, in my opinion musical potty chairs are not any better.

I think you're better off with a stool for the regular toilet. Who wants to clean a potty chair. Plus you can buy the little seats that go on a toilet. Then reward in some other way.
