I'm getting some good replies on my other question, but people keep suggesting Disney animated films even though I asked them not to. (We love them but are tired of them.) Hopefully I'll avoid them altogether with this question. Plus, I'm trying the parent section rather than the movie section. So let's hear it, parents!

Which family movies that are NOT animated do you like to watch with your kids?

my 18 month old throws an absolute fit when it's time for his diaper changes. He writhes and flails and screams and rolls away as hard as he can to avoid them. I have to try to pin him down with one arm and/or legs to change him with the other. We have had poop everywhere once it's over and I have to clean it up. I can't figure out what he hates so bad- he tries to get away before I even get him to lie down. Sometimes he lies for it in front of the tv but even that doesn't always work anymore. Please help!! I can't do this 5 times a day anymore.

I currently work at a daycare that is open from 630-6. Some of my kids believe it or not, are there that long. I have 4-5 yr olds. I have 2 afternoon kindergarteners in my class b/c they take morning kindergarten classes in public school. I treat my class just like a regular class and do all the educational activities required etc... My director came to me today and told me that they do not need naps anymore. I have one child that does not sleep and is very disruptive. He bangs on the walls and claps his hands loudly. Even when he is given quiet activities, he is not quiet. All the other 16 kids sleep for at least an hr to an hr and a half. Most of their parents ask me to ensure they do sleep. There is only a 45 minute mandatory quiet time and then they can read books/get up. How do I convince her that if they do not get a rest period that they are going to be miserable which is going to cause more probs in the afternoon? I have to add that she sends 3-4 yr olds in my room b/c they

I made turkey burger patties with mashed potatoes and gravy the other day and (after refusing his chunky baby food for dinner) he ate his whole helping and LOVED it! I really want him to be able to eat dinner at the table with us, but what should I make? Are there any things that I really shouldn't be feeding him yet?

for the next few mondays im going to babysit my neighbors kids, ages 3,3 and 5. the 3 and 5 yearolds are girls, and the other 3 yearold is a boy. i need activities to keep the kids busy for 2 1/2 hours while their mother is at a church group thing. ive already taken all the classes, but im coming up blank with new activities to keep them busy. something like hand games or something not messy that we could do on a carpeted area without too much noise. sharing is an issue for these kids, the little boy screams alot when something is taken away from him.
the kids like hide and seek but its been getting sort of old.

My daughter is almost 27 months old and seems really bored at home. She has been in daycare part-time for the past 6 months (it is now up to 4 half days a week), but I've noticed an increase in activity and restlessness while home. She has many, many toys and I often buy new ones (so a lack of toys can't be a reason).

Is it just her age? Or does it sound like she's ready for more time in daycare? Does she need the extract social interaction and stimulation?

I have a three year old that has recently been put in daycare. Before she went to daycare she had started to hit. The daycare has said that they have to place her in time out alot because of the hitting. What would be a good way to discipline her when she goes to time out for hitting while at her daycare?

Note that I have been working with her to stop hitting at home. I don't know why she continues to do it so much while she is at her daycare.

I'm afraid that my son may have autism. I have done online research and I'm just not sure. I've read that autistic children like to play alone, but my son is an only child and has no one to play with. He does cover his ears a lot and doesn't answer to his name and repeats everything he hears. My son can learn song very quickly but doesn't talk much. I'm on the fence with this. Help!!

The little girl just comes into my house and destroys stuff. she sleeps over on school nights, and eats all the food in the house! She talks back to my husband and I and picks on my son Preston. She teaches my daughter bad stuff, and pulls the dogs' tails. What in the heck do I do to get this little brat to stay out of my home? My house isn't even a home anymore, it's a pig pen because of this little brat. She stole from me yesterday, and then cried because I wouldn't buy her something at the store. I tried calling the mom and discussing matters with her and it hasn't improved. I tried being sivilized, and now I'm bursting with anger. Her mother even had the right to yell at me for telling my daughter to stay away from her kid. If I lock the doors, the kid yells at my door step 'till I let her in! She's like a stray dog or something. I'm six months pregnate and it's tirefull to chase my own kids, let alone a extra one. Oh, and I told my son that if he belived in santa there was one.

My son is 2 1/2, since he was born I have had no problems getting him to eat. He was always a good eater. Recently, he has not been eating proper foods. He will take a few bites and say he doesnt like it or doesnt want it. Some people say that he is just going tru a stage that all kids do, but I am not sure what to do. He only likes sweets and cakes. In the mornings he eats his breakfast, but just snacks throughout the day. He also goes to his Nana's house while I am at work, and she gives him all that he wants. I choose not to give him sweets, instead try to give him fruits. So does she, but even still, he is not getting his vegies or meats in. Help me, what is the cause, and what can I do to help him like normal foods again? Could a change of place be one reason he isnt eating. Since we moved out of his Nana's house it seems to be the start of this odd behaviour. (before we lived at his nana's we lived in America, we now live in our own house in scotland) Any ideas will be helpful.
