diapers no. many children wet at night for much longer than 4 years old. she cannot help that. they are better than pull ups for night time b/c pull ups do not pull the moisture away from her skin and she is more likely to get diaper rash or an infection.
the bottle-Yes,I do feel that is unreasonable. I would just take it cold turkey. its so hard and she will cry and beg and scream but only a few nights. If she still falls asleep in the car you can take her for a drive close to bedtime and if she asks for a bottle just simply say you dont have a bottle. she will probably go to sleep better in the car but she will still probably cry.
you could also start putting only water in the bottle instead of milk if you want to do it slowly
best of luck!
good luck
P.S. I think everyone is being a little hard on you. I have seen kids with bottles, pacifiers and sucking their thumb at 4 and older. no, its not a good idea but your not a bad parent! many kids arent potty trained during the day till 3, 3 1/2 and sometimes even 4! its fine.

I wouldn't let my child go that long wearing diapers to bed and still using a bottle at 4, but I was watching The Montel Williams Show the other day and there was a lady on that is still breastfeeding her 4 year old child which I think is much worse.

By four they should be more of a little person than a baby. I can see the diapers part for bed if you didn't want the kid to mess the bed, but using a bottle for that long can cause damage to the child's teeth and jaw. A sippy cup or a regular cup would be a much better option.

Absolutley!!! Giving bottles to children after a year old can cause tooth decay, and even for children 1 year and under, NEVER put them to bed with a bottle. The milk can cause decay while they are sleeping with it in their mouth, as well as the possiblity of choking.

Please----- She does not need to be wearing a diaper to bed. She's way too old for that. Tell her if she wants to be a "big girl" that she doesn't need diapers. Have you tried using a "reward" system? I know alot of people arn't really into those, and think that the parents are "bribing" their child.... I never used it on my children, but some kids are different, they need that reinforcement. My son is 2 years old, and is still in diapers; I am trying to potty train him to my best ability, and the daycare is helping out too. I learned with my daughter it takes time. My daughter will be 5 in December, and she has been potty trained with NO accidents even at night time since she was 2 1/2 years old. I tried the longest time with her to get her to go on the potty; then heard it was best if you let her do it when she feels right. Sure enough a month later she was BEGGING me to go on the potty.

I think this is too late to try the "let her go when she feels like it" method. You need to simply put her little behind in panties at night time, and NOT give her the bottle. Simple as that. If she cries.. let her. It won't hurt. Your not killing her. Give her a sippy cup with WATER in it, to start off with. But after she gets used to that, you need to limit how much she drinks at night time. Due to the fact she'll wet the bed less.

Go to some parenting web sites i'm sure they can offer more insight into this situation than I/other people can.

Good luck!!!

The bottle should of been gone long ago. It is going to ruin her teeth for one thing. Wearing a diaper to bed isn't really that bad, they are cheaper then the pull-ups alot of children her age still wet the bed. But the bottle get rid of it. The sooner the better.

Diapers to bed? NO, Lots of children have accidents at night.

Bottle? Children over 1 should not have a bottle, they are able to drink from a cup, and they have teeth, so a bottle could rot their baby teeth, make their bite off, and is totally unreasonable!

I would say change from diapers to pull ups for this child! Also the bottle should be taken away this may be harming the teeth and smile of the child. If the bottle is just for comfort take the top off and let her have the bottom only.

Bottle--yes, that's absolutely ridiculous. Diapers--eh, sort of. Some kids just have a really hard time potty training and will continue to wet the bed at night. Does she wear regular underwear and use the toilet during the day without any accidents, but only wears diapers at night? I'd say this isn't *too* awful, but you really do need to teach her to use the toilet at night.

Have you tried her at night without the diaper? It might be worth giving it a go, even if she is wet , just get up and change the bed, don't make a fuss about it, sometimes it takes a few accidents before they get use to waking up if they need to use the toilet.

You might try buying her a special drink bottle / cup that she can use to have a drink of milk out of before she goes to bed, call it her big girl cup.
