I know to give him lots of fluids and pedialyte to replace elecrolytes lost, but I was wandering what might help the nausea? Im on my way to the store, if anyone has some quick answers.

Thanks Guys. Im off to the store to buy gingerale, crackers, and jello. I actually have heard of that jello thing. A nurse in the emergency room told me to give it to him ( or pedialyte). I thought it was strange then, but its worth a try.

This is going to sound weird, but my husband's grandma used to recommend liquid Jell-o. Just make Jell-o like you normally would but them them drink it instead of letting it set. I'd never heard of it before myself, but he swears that's what they always did as kids. All I know is that I've used it for myself and both my sons and it never fails.

I'm not sure WHY it works (maybe the gelatin is settling or something), but it works... and since it's flavored and sweet no kid is going to turn it down.

Good luck -- not much is less amusing than a sick kid!

Why is he nauseous? How long has it been lasting? Nausea is one of the few things that children at this age don't "just do". Did he eat something he shouldn't have? Lots of questions. However to answer...

If it can be controlled by food...

Toast.

Crackers.

And in small amounts. Remember to a toddler that age a regular size piece of toast looks as big as if it were an 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of toast.

If Nausea continues take the child to see a medical professional assuming of course you haven't already.

I always gave my children a cracker for nausea. The bread and salt always did the trick for me. Sometimes too much fluid just needs a little something solid to help it.

Sip Gingerale, ginger is soothing to the stomach. Just small amounts, should sooth the stomach.

My pediatrician told me to feed my kids the B.R.A.T. formula....bananas, applesauce, rice, and toast. (rice, as in like, rice cereal.) I hope your child feels better!
