My kid pretty much eats whatever I put in front of her but I generally don't give her spicy foods or things that two year olds can't chew well such as raw vegetables or lettuce. I put a small plate of food in front of her and she can eat what she wants then, dessert is either yogurt or cut up fruit.
Here is a list of her favorites:
Steamed white rice
Teriyaki chicken (cut up small)
Tofu
Edamame beans
Fish sticks
Steamed zucchini
Steamed broccoli
Diced fresh tomatoes
Graham crackers
Veggie Booty (at Trader Joes)
Peanut Butter (no allergies in our family)
Bagel and Cream cheese
Scrambled eggs
Pancakes
Cheese sticks
Raisins

They all differ a little. My son's almost two and I give him pretty much everything I eat. Whether he eats it or not is a different story. What he actually does eat: loves pasta, pizza, macaroni and cheese, steamed broccoli, green beans, peas, beets, black olives, pickles, apples, oranges, bananas, pears, cereal with milk, scrambled eggs, toast, and his all time favorites: ranch dip and ketchup. So, they can eat pretty much anything. Just be careful with anything that could be a choking hazard. Like, cut grapes in half and baby carrots lengthwise in half. I avoid raisins and any kind of nuts right now. And make sure it's not too hot because they tend to just take a bite anyway and could burn their mouth.

Very little LOL..chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, hot dogs, my picky four year old eats sandwhiches LOL with no bread..get that. It is a very picky age. Let them feed themselves no matter how messy and just keep introducing different foods. My oldest now 13 year old was the pickiest eater in the world would only do orange baby food and it only got worse as a toddler..he will try most anything now.

They should be able to eat whatever you are eating just in smaller portions. They need variety from all the food groups, and should be eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 2 snacks a day. My daughter is 18 months old and eats what I eat for dinner every night.

i blend what i ever i eat and feed it to my son, i have done so since he was six months the only change is the consistancy of the food from puree to more coarse foods. try to avoid take aways and highly processed foods. as alot of these are high in sugar and can lead to an energy high then a real moody low. some staples are:
1.lean chicken and meat
2.rice
3. pasta
4. LOTS of FRESH FRUIT & VEGETABLES
5. fish
At this age though they do start to refuse food, mostly because its the one thing they have control over. One day they might just hate apples where as before that they'd eat them

Pretty much anything. My kids love mac n cheese, hotdogs, all the stuff that is no good for them! It's important for them to eat vegetables and fruit. My son loves canteloupe and they both love grapes and apple wedges. Watermelon is good too. Raisins make a good snack.
Go easy on the junk food...cookies, candies and stuff like that
Make sure that they get a little meat and 3 servings of dairy. Cheese is a great snack too.

Very little is right, lol. My son is a VERY picky eater. Nana & papa have taught him to love junk food (cookies, cheetos, and french fries specifically) but I don't give in to his request unless it's a special ocassion.
All children are different. My son is not the normal pasta/ macaroni and cheese loving toddler. He refuses to eat beef, as well. His favorites include: Grilled chicken, chicken nuggets, grapes, bananas, apples, peaches, grilled fish (as long as we call it chicken), grilled shrimp, any dry cereal, blueberry muffins, corn dogs, brocolli (baby trees), rice, and pepperoni pizza
