I'm sure you can find a good store that sells regular milk. If you're really worried then you should maybe buy formula for the days that you are gone and wouldn't try any canned milk or anything like that. I would suggest you buy formula or maybe even pedisaure shakes or something like that!

if you are that worried, you could take Ultra Heat Treated milk on the trip with you...It does not need to be refrigerated until it is opened. I know in the US you can get it in 2l size and in small 1 serving size for school lunches. I would check around and see if Canada offers anything similar. However, my cousin is Cuban, he just returned from a trip with his family and gave their baby the milk there. (also 18 months old) he said it was fine and they had no problems with it. Good luck and enjoy the trip

Yes, you needn't worry much about Cuban milk (though I'd check on how it's refrigerated). That's not a bad idea though, taking powdered milk.

I spent a couple months there a few years ago and had much less trouble than in Mexico or Central America. And a couple of friends and their young family (baby and 3-yr-old) just got back to B.C. after many weeks there. They probably did more adventuring than you'll do. You'll get lots of great tips from their travelogue:

Especially, read his last entry (#51).

No, it's not. And there are no babies in Cuba. They all go to Canada to drink milk and come back when they switch to solid food.

When I went to Mexico I was able to freeze milk and bring it with me. Just get a small cooler and use dry ice. Call the airline and ask about restrictions. I wouldn't risk getting tainted milk, bring your own if you can. Good luck!!

Is it your baby's first flight? Toddlers in general are very active, how are you gonna make her stay still for 4 hours? I suggest you leave the baby with her grandparents and go have fun with your husband. It's very hot in cuba in summer.

If its pastuerized it should be fine. You could take powdered milk with you and reconstitute it with bottled water. Or go back to a stage 2 formula during your trip.

Wow, nice job risking your child's health in a third world country.
