ok your at the wrong end of training. the cheerios due no good til he is he is going in the potty,
first he must master sitting on the potty. try this it worked for my son. sit him on the potty every hour and make him sit there for a few minutes if he goes praise him. if not try again in a hlaf an hour. do this all day every day and start journaling every time he goes. and every time you change him and hes wet, start using regular underwear, he will get trained faster this way,. little kids hate feeling wet,. use pull ups or diapers for long car trips or when you will not have access to a bathroom and for naps and bedtimes

After potty training my daughter, I can definitely say that training boys is harder!

I found The Potty Stool online and it has made such a difference! My son is able to get right to the toilet. He can pee standing up with no problem and he loves to "make a snake" and flush the toilet.

My son was very excited about using the same toilet that Mommy and Daddy use. Keeping my son in "big boy undies" and using cotton underwear with Spiderman or Bob the Builder has really helped too because he tries extra hard to keep them dry and clean.

Hang in there! Every parent goes through this so you are not alone.

i have 3 children and my youngest is 2 and a half i had found with her if she had an accident not to make a big thing of it and loads of loose clothing so tracksuit bottoms, pull up jeans that sort of thing. if she used her potty would massively praise her and for a while take her to the loo and put her on the potty myself every hour or so. after a while she understood what she had to do and where and is bone dry now. as far as the pooing thing is concerned don't worry happens to most kids all 3 of mine did that. also something big like having another little one can unwittingly send some children backwards on the potty training front for a while as they don't quite understand i was recommended not to train my oldest daughter until my son was about 4 months old and she was bone dry within 2 weeks after that. i know it seems a lot but hope it helps.

Momma boys don't normally have intrest in the potty untill they are like 3 years old. Your son is stubborn like my two. My fiance has a child from hell whom is 4 and still won't poop in the potty all the time. But My oldest son had a pacifer (CHUNK IT OUT) That made him potty train that weekend after taking it away. Also if you get frustrated put pull ups back on him. He isn't ready if you are having major issues. He is just as frustrated as you are. in order to see this it's like us learning some thing new that is hard. We get frustrated so do they. This is a major mile stone. So relax try giving him rewards and claping make it fun but don't expect him to be fully potty trained until he wants to be.

The key to toilet training involves getting the child interested and actively participating in the whole procedure.

So, if your son is anything like my grandson (recently turned 3), he likes TV and videos. You can take advantage of this by getting a copy of a video called "Once Upon a Potty for Him" (you can rent this from Netflix or probably find it in a good video store--or buy it from Amazon).

My grandson LOVED this video, and it quickly got him very interested in sitting on the potty--he was soon doing his business in there! Give it a try!

I am the oldest of six, that's right, six kids, four of us are boys...when you sit him down on the toilet take and pour some luke warm water (obviously not to warm to cause discomfort) on his #*#*#. After a few times he'll get the idea. I also used this on my son when he was that age and it worked like a charm.
