My daughter loves to go to parks and loves the rides, but screams everytime the ride is over. Any advice? It's so hard to watch her having a great time and then scream like the world is coming to an end. Hopefully it's just a phase, however this seems like a really long phase as it started when she was old enough to ride on rides.
We are ready to give up on her and not take her to amusement parks until she's a little older.

(she can't get back in her bed by herself). i don't know what else to try. she also gets up on her own a 6:30 every morning and wont go down for a nap in the day unless we are driving somewhere. she gets very crabby durning the day and is tired but won't go to sleep. help me

Reason I'm asking is my son is 18months and just about ready to come out of his 12-18m clothes but so many people keep saying 'Oh he's such a big boy' which is worrying me. He isn't fat or chubby but he is tall, was long when he was born but he can't be that big if he's still in this age range of clothes. He's never had to move up a size early!

Its just bugging me becuase someone at a group the other day thought he was 2 and a half! And if people are thinking he's that old then they will think he's badly behaved.

Maybe she was talking sh!t or maybe I'm worrying to much!

I am conceren about what I should do come August with his milk drink? I know the milk abroad is different, has anyone gave that mlik as a drink or should I return to giving him formula while away? The hotel does not have any kitchen facilities so I dont really want to have to sterilse bottles and make feeds but I don't know what else I can do!!!

We have a 5 year old daughter who we have on a schedule that we follow every night. At 8pm she gets her bath, brushes her teeth, we read her a book and she lays down by 9pm. She comes into our room several times a night and is NEVER asleep until after 11:30. My husband and I are not getting adequate sleep, while she seems to need very little! She is up every morning around 6:00 am and does not take a nap during the day. We do not allow her to drink soft drinks except on Saturday and she does not eat a lot of sugar. We have no trouble laying her down and keeping her in bed (except her visit to our bed on ocassion) but she, in her words is, "just not sleepy mommy". I worry about her sleeping habits causing a problem when she starts Kindergarten in August. Any uggestions??

My son has slept through the night since he was about 7 weeks old but the last month or so he has started waking during the night. He will go to bed as normal but will only sleep for about 3 hours before he wakes and starts screaming (and i mean screaming!) The only way i can get him back to sleep is if i put him in my bed with me. I try not to but hate leaving him screaming as he gets himself really upset. I have tried giving him a pillow that I have slept on as I thought it might help but it doesnt. If i leave him to cry (as i dont want him to get into the habit of getting into my bed) make me a bad parent? Thanks for your help

My son (20 months old) sleeps in his crib at home and slept in a pack 'n play when traveling. Well, he finally outgrew the weight limit on it, so I need to find some other sleep solution for him. Where do you put your children to sleep after they've outgrown the pack 'n play and would roll out of a "real" bed? Thanks.

She just turned 2, but has always shown an interest in music and a natural tendency to dance to music, even if it is just background music on a show. I want to encourage her to do this if she enjoys it, and give her something fun to do. Is 2 too young?

My daughter just turned 2. I am a stay at home mom, and she is typically really loving and happy-go-lucky. When she gets around other people like her cousins, or my parents, she does things like pull hair or hit. She just does it out of the blue, and like she is playing. She doesnt have a mean look or anything when she does it. She also tells me "no" more when there are other people around. Is this normal for her age? I know they start becoming more independent and testing their boundaries around this age, right? I'm not sure how to discipline her. Should I ignore it, and not give the negative behavior my attention? Should I swat her? I'm not sure if I want to punish hitting with more hitting, it seems contradictory. My dad said that she pulled his hair once, and he pulled hers back and she hasnt done it since, so maybe it would work???Should I try time-outs? I just dont get it. When we are at home, she is so laid back, but things change around other people. Any advice?

my 4 year old son will be 5 this summer and i want him to be able to go to school. He knows his numbers, colors, shapes. but i have tried and tried again to teach him the alphabet. because i live 1/2 hr from a town with a preschool i really did not want to make the drive every day but im not sure if i should go ahead and get him in preschool instead of kindergarten. Because we live in the country he hasnt really had alot of social time with children his age. it's hard to get him to sit down to teach him, any suggestions? should i have him do preschool anyways or try to get him caught up over the summer at home? also if anyone knows of any low income preschools or maybe summer programs in Cheyenne, Wyoming area it would be appreciated!

She was "diagnosed" as having infant shuddering syndrome, (because the ped. nerologist didn't know what else to call it) at 4 months. She shuddered frequently like she had the chills. There was no follow up because it tapered off as she became older, but another symptom didn't. When she's tired, she knods her head "no" from side to side repetedely. When she's in her crib either trying to fall asleep, or in the middle of sleep, while lying on her tummy, she'll lift the whole upper half of her body, and slam both sides of her head over and over into the mattress. It can be between 25 and maybe 500 times a night! Some nights she'll only do it once or twice, maybe ten times each. Other nights she keeps us up all night because we can hear it through the monitor. She does this HARD! So hard in fact, one of our baby sitters thought someone was knocking on the front door. Her ped. says it's a soothing mechanism for some kids, but it seems more to me. I can't seem to get any answers.

Ok all- I have two problems here but let me explain-
about the rocking her to sleep- I tried to do the "leave the room for 2 min go in pat her on the back, leave again, come back in 5 min, ect....." but she cried so hard that she vomits all over herself and poops- I feel thats just cruel to do- she gets more awake doing this and I can't stand her crying- but now she is almost 20 months and I still rock her to sleep- now I am worried if I try the system again she will try to climb out of her crib (hasn't yet but I have seen her try and get a foot up there)
What do I do about this?
About the bottle thing- I delute the milk with Half water-
I have not tried the sippy cup while rocking her but she only has two bottles a day - nap and night time-
and definitly does not mind a sip cup or reg cup
which problem should I try and solve first-
please be conforting in your responces- please don't tell me to let her cry till she pukes and still not go in-
