What are the symptoms? My son has had bronchitis once and it was cured with antibiotics but he's still wheezing and the doctor says he doesnt have bronchitis anymore but I brought up asthma and he said he didnt want to assume anything but I don't like that he's wheezing. I think he should at least give him a breathing treatment, I have an inhaler and I know it would help him alot.

My son just turned 3 and refuses to sleep in his own bed. He has never slept in my bed or with me even as an infant. the last few months have been H*LL. He will not go to bed, and refuses to sleep unless he is in my room with me beside him. I have tried not talking to him, and escorting him back to his room and this does not work. I have done this ALL night, every time he gets out of his bed(from 8pm to 8 am he won't give in) I have taken out naps, No sugar, juice ect after 5pm. I have laid down with him in his bed, I have scolded him, I have praised his efforts I have done everything I can think of.... but it does not work! I need some help getting sleep! He is a tosser and a turner at night... I have woken up many times with bloody noses (me not him) from him kicking me, as well as multiple bruises, backaches and the works. I am currently 4 weeks away from having my second son and on a good night... I am getting about 3 hours of sleep. I NEED HELP! any ideas please???

I've tried to bribe him with candy, cookies, and Elmo. I have tried to punish him. Still, he won't take it. Any information you can give would be helpful.

My daughter had vomiting on Friday, and on Saturday the vomiting had stopped but instead she had diarrohea and a temperature. I took her to emergency doctor and she was given a powder to replenish lost sugars, salts etc.

I had hoped by today the diarrohea would have subsided but to no avail. I called the doctor again today and i have another appointment for tomorrow, but i just wondered how long does diarrohea in toddlers usually last? When I had sickness and diarrohea a few months back all symptoms were pretty much gone in 24 hours. She is 15.5 months old.

If your child had diarrohea for more than 3 days, what was the outcome? Did it clear up after a few more days or what?

With all due respect, I would really appreciate it if nobody answers rudely or insults me, please just answer the question if you can. Thanks

My son is 2 1/2. He goes to be about 730 everynight and wakes up at 5 am.

I'm glad he's sleeping through the night but his waking up so early is very hard. I have tried putting him to bed later, I've tried just letting him play in his room. I tried making sure he has a full stomach and I leave a water cup by his bed.

I need help getting him to sleep later! Please help!

I am a preschool teacher who recently resigned my position due to several flaws at the school in which I was working. The name of the school is sterling academy in cooper city florida. Please, if you live in the area, and are looking for a preschool do not even consider this school. I cannot go into details, however, I was extremely disappointed with how the staff was treated, as well as the lack of cleanliness. About 75 percent of the employees have similar view points and are on thier way out. In addition several parents have become fed up with the situation and are pulling thier children out. Some good schools in the area are oxford academy, chesterbrook, and the jcc, they are a little more money but well worth it.

I asked this once-but now cant find my question...sorry for repeating ... my question is about my 4 year old son who will start preschool in Aug. we are trying to choose a preschool and have narowed it down to two, one of which is a little further away and not in our school district so he wont go on to kindergarten with these kids. He is shy and we are wondering if starting kindergarten will be easier for him if he already knows some of the kids from preschool. Should this be one of the determining factors? Thanks so much!

The door closed on my (almost) one year old's middle finger this afternoon. It got caught in that metal part of the threshold and was bleeding in four spots, along with from under his fingernail. His first birthday is tomorrow and I just feel so bad! He won't keep a bandaid on it, and even though it stopped bleeding, I'm still worried about it! Will his fingernail die and fall off? The door didn't close all the way on his finger, I stopped it before it did that, and I don't see any bruising (30 minutes later)... just want to know what will probably happen...? Should I tell his doctor about it when he goes on Thursday?

This morning at the grocery store an obease woman told me that it's wrong to give a 2yr old candy and rolled her eyes when she saw me purchasing a small package of gummy bears. (Little did she know, they were for my step daughter who is 9). I am a very fit person who exercises and eats healthy. On top of that, I feed my child very healthy foods. My shopping cart was full of fruits, vegetables, meat, and dairy- no junk food. On the other hand, this woman's cart was full of everything but nutritious foods.
So I said to her "Oh, you're right, I should take nutritional advice from someone who knows how to eat healthily. How's that going for ya?" I wanted to make my point without the chance of an argument.

A third person in the aisle said that I shouldn't be so inconsiderate, this woman was just looking out for the well being of my child. Am I missing something here? Is it all of a sudden OK to tell a person what's right for their child when they have no idea what's going on?

We're moving in a couple of months and I've been looking for a pre-school for my youngest to attend in September in the new area. He'll be three in August and i think he'd enjoy going to school maybe twice or three times a week. Our older two sons each attended a regular town pre-school and before going to kindergarten attended The Goddard School. In our new area there aren't any little pre-schools that are close by but there is a huge Montessori School that goes K-8 that many seem to attend. I'm not a big fan of the "Montessori Method", but i wanted to hear the opinions of those who have sent their children (any age) / worked there. Did they get a lot of the school? Were they taught basic infomation, like tieing shoes? Did your child ever get frustrated with the structure of the class? Is it true that mulitable ages are all in one classroom?
These questions don't have to be answered, but any info would help. Thanks in advance.

My boyfriend is in strong belief that it is more benificial to punish when bad happens rather than praise for the good. I cant seem to find the words to explain how great it is for the child to get praised for Good behavior. I dont want my son to grow up with this complex that everything he does is not good enough or is bad. Does anyone know of any great websites that list the development of a 5 yr old or just explaining how great praise is.
Thanks for the advice.

My husband and I have a five year old and three year old twins, we are thinking about having another one, do you think this is too much for today? Our children would be six and four by the time we had the next one, so there would be a good age difference, please tell me what you think? thanks!!

I don't know what to do. I picked my child up from daycare, upon driving home she told me," She wasn't going back!"
When asked,"Why?" She had told me in so real detail that one of the care giver spanked 3xs on the backside because she won't lay down at nap time!
I confronted the day care person in charge to find out my child had lied and the person that was to have struck her wasn't even present at that time!
Now I'm left with questions - Why?
How can it be so real when told to me by my child, she was so upset when she told me!
Please help me out! Why, how can I stop more fibs out of her mouth?
What kind of action should I take for this fib she told?
At loss for words, I feel so bad for Day and I'm sorry I ever confronted them, but I needed to.
I owe this as a parent to protect my child, as I thought best. Was I wrong to even ask them about the spankings?
Is telling fibs normal at this age? This is the first that I know of from my child.
Thank you
