My daughter has a habit that I do not know where she picked up and dont how to respond. I call it a 'pity party' for herself. For example: If she wants to sit on my lap and I dont ask her to come sit by me she wont ask. Instead she will say things like " I guess i just wont sit by you mom if you dont want me to." I have never told her I dont want her to. Its like shes trying to get sympathy for no reason. SHes not abused or mistreated in any way but that is almost what it seems liek when she does this. Any suggestions??

My son will willingly pee, but when it comes to pooping he will run around screaming it hurts it hurts, when we put him on the toilet, he will just sit there for a minute and say I'm done. he wont go in his underware, he went for two days with out pooping before i gave in a put a diaper on him. It's the only way that he will go.

It's not being apart from his mom but rather from me. I have cared for him since birth. But working a full 8 hours on weekdays, caring for him some evenings and on weekends and caring for my ailing mother has taken a toll on me mentally and physically. Recently,my daughter was able to get another daycare provider (she has two). The problem has been that she does not have a set work schedule (always works weekends). For example she works 1 day from 2:00 to 10:30 p.m. The first provider will care for him until 6:00 p.m. but then I pick him up and take him to the other day care provider and he just has a meltdown! He now wakes up with night terrors. It's been a big change for him and I sense he is feeling abandoned although I do watch him for 1 or 2 evenings week and reassure him but his understanding right now is limited to his age.... On top of that my daughter comes home exhausted and loses her temper with him. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

He used to absolutely love taking a bath, ever since he was born. Now he refuses, and I end up with a screaming, fighting baby who only wants to stand up and try to crawl out of the bathtub, all the while fighting and screaming. New bath toys didnt't do the trick, and I just don't know what to do anymore. We've adjusted the water temperature, bought new toys, had his dad try to bathe him... nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?!

My daughter was in speech, had four 45 min. sessions and her SLP wants to discharge her. I'm very concerned and talked to her pediatrician about it. She asked me what she says and if she speaks in two word phrases yet. The only two word phrase that she says is "all done" or "all gone." She also says "duck", "door", "diaper" (sounds like doctor), "Momma", "Da Da", "up", "down", "eat", "cup" (she actually says bup", "boop" (her version of book), "socks", "shoes", "bath" (comes out baff), "nap", she knows almost all of the animals on a farm (pig and cat are still difficult for her) and what they say, and can point to and say her "eyes, "ears", "nose", "mouth", "arm", and "hand". Normal or should she know more??

My young son is 20 months (second child) and does not talk very much at all. I'm not concern about his hearing as he can sing in tune but he's not bothered about talking but then he's only got to grunt at stuff and he gets it. I try and encourage him but he's just not bothered. Should I be worried?

My 9 1/2 month old baby started waking up again after sleeping through the night for about 3 weeks. He is pulling up and walks around in his playpen holding on. I am wondering, is this another developmental milestone because it seems alot of people have this problem at this age. The problem with my baby is that he takes forever to go to sleep and when he does go down he wakes up about an hour later standing in his crib, crying for bloody murder. We left him a couple of times to see if he would get tired and just go back to sleep. (He knows how to get back down from standing). This did not work out, we had to hold him till he was in a deep sleep and then put him back in the crib. This could take any where from 1/2 hr to 1 hr. My question is will this go on for much more and do they turn into better sleepers when they turn 1 year old???
