My son will willingly pee, but when it comes to pooping he will run around screaming it hurts it hurts, when we put him on the toilet, he will just sit there for a minute and say I'm done. he wont go in his underware, he went for two days with out pooping before i gave in a put a diaper on him. It's the only way that he will go.

I would just be patient with him, and let him use the diaper for a while longer, and ignore people if they bash you for it. My oldest pooped in the toilet before peeing and my youngest was like your son, every one is different, but dont make an issue out of it or it could cause it to go on longer.

Ive not had this problem yet but a good friend of mine from back home in Texas did. She bought her son the little potty seats, then the inserts that go on the regular toliet seats and he still refused to potty number 2 in the toliet but would go pee all by himself. He would not go in his underpants either. I dont know what hurt him was it the fact his little hiney is sticking through a hole and he's getting pressure points? Anyhow after about 6-7 months he finally pooped in the toliet the water splashed his butt he screamed and it took 2 more weeks to get him back on the toliet. But he was potty trained totally before he turned 4 and that was her goal. Some parents are like "my kid will be potty trained by the age of two" lmfao give me a break they arent mentally ready by age two. Dont rush it and praise him everytime he does use the toliet I dont think giving him toys, treats and so forth are a good idea he will only grow to expect them every time he goes. Some kids take longer then others dont rush it is my belief and Ive raised 3 and working on my 4th

This is very common, especially for boys. A friend of mine has a son with the same problem. He wouldn't poop for days. The doctor finally told her to give him an enema. Personally, I feel no rushing with potty training. Praise him for his efforts with peeing. He will go, just in his own time. Have you tried giving him a reward if he poops? Not like a toy, I mean like a sticker chart. If you wanted to take it a step further, when he fills up his chart with stickers, he can have a special night out with mom for icecream. GOOD LUCK and hang in there!

this is a very normal thing kids go through, not all kids but alot. don't make a big deal out of it. let him go in his diaper. he will stop soon, sometimes "they" say that kids think it is a part of there body . my son did this, he was potty trained but wouldn't go poo on the potty for a while
